Coals POV
What did you just say I shrieked. You can't be serious so not only do I have to go back to high school other known as hell, but kirishimas not even going to be with me I huffed out.Correct said the Sargent giving me an unimpressed look. Why does he get to come in after 3 weeks and not right away like me. You're the one who said we should play nose goes for it kiri said with a chuckle.
Well that's because I didn't think you would beat me I said with a defeated look. He just smirked and said too bad. I silently cursed him for all eternity while mido started talking again.
Well now that we've chosen whose going in first let's continue, coal you will keep a low profile at the high school for your first week there gathering information, memorizing the layout, and looking out for any suspicious activity. Kirishima won't be to far away if you need him.
He will be a block a way from storm coast high in a car surveying the building itself. You both will have tiny mics on your person to communicate with each other. Coal make sure no one sees you talking into the mic for obvious reasons Mido stated.
What did he just ramble on about, that was so long and boring I zoned out a bit; whatever kiri could fill me in on what Mido said later. Tomorrow we will begin, so coal get some rest you're going to need it Mido said.
Uhh I groaned as I walked out of the Academy with kiri. You got off easy I said not hiding my jealousy at all. I know you didn't like high school coal but guess what now you're a hot, badass cop, who could beat the shit out of any bully so what's the problem kiri joked.
I knew everything he said was true and I shouldn't be worried yet I had a uneasy feeling inside me which only seemed to grow. Choosing to ignore this I said yeah you're right I have nothing to worry about. Boy was I wrong.
Time skip
Man it's only been four years since I was out of high school yet the fashion scene really changed; and not for the better, I thought as stared at the ugly pants kiri held.
Uhhh I groaned. I'm not getting these awful jeans; are you even sure high schoolers where stuff like this I asked kirishima. Of course they do it's what's trending, all the popular kids probably have closets full of these clothes... I think... Kiri said not sounding very confident.
You think you think I said mocking him. Ergh I can't believe we got stuck with this stupid assignment I shouted. Gaining a weird look from a lady browsing the shirts nearby. Feeling embarrassed now, I took kiris wrist and pulled him away from that section of the store. I'm not getting any of these kids clothes I grumbled. Well you can't just pull up to the high school wearing a suit, everyone will think you're insane kiri said. And if you just throw anything on people will think you don't care. Well I don't I replied with a smirk trying to get on his nerves. I could tell I succeeded when he scoffed and made a frustrated face.
Whatever, I'm done show up too school wearing your bathing suit for all I care he shouted before storming off. Oops I didn't think he would get so mad mabey I went a little too far.
Hff I sighed now feeling bad about being so rude to my friend. After all he was just trying to help me the least I could do was try on a few of the things he picked out.
Kirishimas pov
Uhh why did coal have to be so difficult. Ever since they arrived at the store all they did was argue. Coal was acting like a spoiled brat refusing to try anything on. Well I've had enough I thought as I plopped myself down on a couch in the waiting area.
All I wanted to do was to help Coal get some nice clothes so he could fit in at school yet coal didn't seem too care. I knew coal didn't like high school that was obvious. Every time someone brought the topic up in conversation coal would either walk away, try to change the subject, or just remain silent with a frown on his face.
Not many people noticed these things but I did and it always bothered me.
I tried asking about it once but he shut that down real quick, the only way I'm going to find out about his past is by coal telling me himself.Someone sat down next to me breaking me out of my chain of thoughts. It was coal he had a nervous look on his face as he apologized.
I'm sorry for being so rude I know you were just trying to help me. I should have been more appreciative. And I'll try on the fugly jeans he sighed. Do you forgive me he said with puppy dog eyes causing me to roll mine.
Then I smirked and said of course... NOT. What he said frustration in his voice. Haha I'm just kidding I laughed now try on this outfit I said shoving the clothes into his hands. I hate you he said as he grabbed the clothes speed walking to the fitting room.
Coal's POV
Hurry up you've already been in there two minutes Kiri said knocking on the door.
I had finished changing a while ago but I couldn't bring myself to go out the door. I looked absolutely ridiculous.
A single tear fell down my cheek as I rethought all my life's choices. I took one last look at myself before I sighed and opened the door.
As soon as kiri saw me he burst out laughing. Haha oh my god it's even better than I thought he wheezed. Click click. What was that sound? No God No
I realized he just took a picture of me. Delete that right now I shouted. Haha nothings better than sweet revenge he laughed as he held the phone out of my reach.
Here he said try the actual outfit on. What I said what do you mean by actual outfit? I mean the outfit you're wearing right now was a prank no one would be caught dead in that especially high schoolers.
I'm going to kill you I growled. I'm already dead kiri said as he wiped tears away from his eyes still laughing hysterically. Just you wait I'm going to get you back and it will be ten times worse I hissed as I snatched the clothes from his hands going back into the changing room.
