Ham-Hams POV:
"Class! We have a new student today! He just moved to New York from the Caribbean, so let's all give a warm welcome to.... what's your name, man?" The teacher asks me.

"Alexander Hamilton. My name is Alexander Hamilton. And there's a million things I haven't done, but just you wait, just you-"

"That's very nice, Alexander," the teacher says. He hands me a name tag. "Why don't you go sit by Thomas?" He points to a kid in a magenta coat, who hisses at me.

"Can I sit somewhere else? Not by the scary magenta kid?"

"Now, Alexander, that's not very nice. You can sit at Table Three with John, Hercules, Marie, and- yes?"

    "It's Lafayette, actually. Not Marie."

"Okay Lafayette. Alex, you sit with them. Aaron will be your buddy." A small kid in a purple shirt waves at me. I wave back, and sit down with them.

"This is our table," Aaron says. "You can sit between me and John. John likes turtles. Mr. Washington is very nice, but he is scary when he is mad."

    "Ok." That is useful information.

Mr. Washington clears his throat. "Are we ready to begin for the day? Alright! So first off- what, Peggy?"

A short girl in a yellow dress tugs on his sleeve. "When's snack?" she asks.

"Snack time is later. After lunch. But if you can be quiet for five minutes, you can have a graham cracker." Peggy skips back to her table.

"Who are they?l I ask, pointing to Thomas' table.

"That's John Jay, James Madison, (he has asthma) and Thomas Jefferson. Thomas is kind of a...." Aaron trails off.

    "Kind of a what?"

"He's kind of a butt," he whispers. "Don't tell anyone I said that."

"I won't. Who are they?" This time, I point to Peggy's table.

"Those are the Schuyler sisters. They always stick together, and if you make one mad, they're all mad at you. So be nice."

Just then, the tallest sister looks over at me. "The new kid is staring," she says.

"Let's wave to be nice, Angie!" one of them suggests.

"No, Eliza," Angie responds. "We must stay tough and stare back. Show him we aren't to be reckoned with." I think she's what my dad calls a 'feminist'.

"Or we could pose with our hands on our hips," Peggy offers. All of a sudden, they stick their hands in my face and snap.

    "Work!" they yell.

"They just snapped at me," I say to Aaron.

"They do that a lot," he responds.

"Ok, now let's do some writing," Mr. Washington announces. "We will write about our weekends, and we'll draw some pictures. You can have fifteen minutes to do so- yes Peggy."

"I get my graham cracker now," she says. He hands her the cracker. "Mhmgnthankyoumnhm," she mumbles, stuffing it into her face.

"You're very welcome. Please return to your seat. Thank you. Now, who would like to pass out papers?"

"I would!" Aaron says. Since no one else raised their hand, Mr. Washington gives him a stack of papers to pass.

"Once you have your paper, you may begin writing." Yay! I love writing.
