Happy Birthday Hua Cheng.
I’ve known you for less than a year, but it was enough to read the first book of the novel to get passionate about you. Before I read Tian Guan Ci Fu I thought I would not meet someone who in my heart would occupy a space greater than that dedicated to Lan Zhan and Wei Ying and instead it happened with you. In my heart now there is a huge space dedicated to you and your gege; you are unique, wonderful and your love is something incredible. On your birthday, I would like to say what you are and what you represent to me, although I don’t think I will be able to apply the gift of synthesis. You represent the fortitude, courage, determination and perseverance, you are the one who waited and waited for the only man who can keep you alive, for the man that when you were on the edge, he said, "If you don’t have a reason to live, live for me," and you took it literally. Your whole life has focused on that man who was wonderful, powerful, everything you needed to move forward, to have a goal and to keep living. You gave everything for him, and then you lost everything. Unfortunately for you, even though you knew it wouldn’t be easy to get close to him the way you wanted to, things went the wrong way and you lost him, over and over again. You saw him suffer, fall, lose hope and everything he had, you saw the torture that was inflicted on him, you saw the chasm with him, you saw the pain, the revenge, the fear, the betrayal and the loneliness and you could not save him from that torment. It must have been the most terrible pain you could imagine, because you were there, but you couldn’t stop the events, you couldn’t reassure him, you couldn’t save him, but you were there. You’ve been in pain, you’ve been in happiness, always in the shadows, always near him, always. You’ve waited 800 years, you’ve become stronger and stronger, you’ve honed your skills and you’ve kept thinking about him, every moment, who he was, is, and will be your life. But you met him again, you saw him smile again, you saw him laugh, you lived with him, you were close to him at all times, without expecting anything else, despite hoping for it with every part of you. One more time you saw him suffer, you saw that he was about to give up hope, to give in to fear and pain, but you were there and you pulled him out, you rescued him, you protected him and you helped him. You swore you’d always be by his side, and so you did. Without you, he wouldn’t have started living the way you did without him. You can survive, you can wait for him, but you can’t live unless you have him near you. Your love is wonderful, unique, an example to every person in the world, but at the same time almost unattainable. On your birthday, I am not able to do anything else for you, but I hope that this dedication, this idle talk about you, is enough to show what a wonderful person you are. You deserve all the happiness in the world and while you have waited a long time, you have finally reached it. Enjoy it
