My new step brothers

My new hom... house

I sat my legs crossed as dad drove, this past week was the longest I'd seen him.
He was usually at work since I turned four and was marked as intelligent my parents started to leave me home.

But now my mother's deceased she has been for a year now died from cancer, but my father got married again just 3 days ago to this beautiful woman who has 3 sons.
I had met all of them at the wedding but it was brief.
Now father was driving to the new mansion him and his new wife bought together.

He pulled up into a big driveway
" welcome to your new house" he said smiling widely
I gave him a weak smile and get out of the car there was already a huge moving truck with multiple mover bringing furniture in and dads new wife standing at the front door.

She saw him and ran over engulfing him in a hug, she was really pretty and a year younger than him. I'm not sure when they met cause even after moms death he was still constantly working they had grown apart after all.

She looked over to me and smiled then knelt down I wasn't even  short but I was eleven so to her I was short.

" hi Rosalyn I'm Angeline but you can call me Angie or you know whatever.... I don't expect you to call me mom... unless you want to of course but uh... let me show you your room" she said nervously

I followed her as she entered the mansion then up to the second floor avoiding movers till we got to my new room.
It had boxes everywhere and my bed and my teddy bear aka my best friend he would always keep me company everyday since I turned 4.

" you can decorate it any way you want it's up to you if you want help or whatever.... and maybe sometime we can go shopping and fill your closet" Angie laughed uncontrollably

"sure" I said but honestly I hate the mall
She smiled and left

I decided to start unpacking and designing my room I always prefer to get things done immediately.
So I started unpacking and designing and I was done in no time.
Which was perfect timing because Angie knocked then entered.

" Rosalyn come down for di.... wow your room looks amazing good job I thought it'd take longer..... any way time to come down for dinner" she said
So I entered the dinning room with her and my dad was there standing next to Angie's sons 

I realised immediately this would be a meet thing so I started walking slower.

Angie stood in front of me her smile way too eager
" before we have dinner I want everyone to meet everyone so we can be respectful in the future and we can be a real family" Angie said then she walked over to me and pulled me forward In front of one of her sons.

"This is Charlie he's my oldest, he's 17 and in grade 12" Angie said before moving to her next son
" this is my second oldest Aidan he's 16 and in grade 11"
Then she got to her last son
" this is Liam he's my youngest at 15 and he is in grade 10"

Then we backed up " boys this is Rosalyn she is 11 years old and she'll be going in to grade ten I expect you to be nice and welcoming to her " Angie said and I saw Liam and Charlie roll their eyes but nodded

Then we ate in silence as soon as we were finished I went back to my room and quickly changed into my pjs it was only 7 but I didn't want to be awake so I laid down with alfred my teddy bear who was really big and I fell asleep

I woke up it was really dark outside, which didn't scare me cause I wasn't afraid of the dark... I wasn't it's just the opposite of light so nope not afraid of the dark . The nightlight in my room is for Alfred he is afraid of the dark.

I grabbed a flash light and was about to leave my room when I saw how dark the hall was so I grabbed Alfred...so he wouldn't be scared cause he's afraid of the dark.

I walked down the hall Alfred in one hand flashlight in the other, making my way to the kitchen so I could make some tea.
I entered the kitchen and set the flashlight in my moth and Alfred on the counter so I could make the tea after the water boiled I poured it and set it on the counter looking off towards the counter chairs looking at each one before I noticed a dark shadow at one of them.
I let out a yelp and grabbed Alfred before ducking down behind one of the counters and squeaking Alfred
See  being afraid of the dark is logical... Not saying I'm afraid but if I was I'd have a valid reason.

I held the flashlight in my hands as I hear footsteps I shit my eyes tight holding my breath so the monster couldn't hear me.

Then the footsteps stopped right next to me, my heart was beating so fast I could hear it.

" Rosalyn?" A voice asked

I opened my eyes cautiously to see... what's his name Aidan standing above me.

I jumped up and shone my flashlight around the kitchen no one else so it was him.
Ha glad I'm not afraid of the dark or id be really embarrassed.

He was looking at me strangely
" uh...h...hi" I said quickly grabbing my tea and sitting down.

" are you ok?" He asked

"Yea...yeah I'm fine" my eyes looked over him he wasn't wearing a shirt or pants only gray boxers he was basically naked and he seemed perfectly ok were aaa I was wearing my checkered pjs  

He watched my gaze and laughed as I looked away
" can I ask you two questions?" He asked and I nodded
" first how are you going into grade ten? "

" uh I was marked as intelligent when I was four because I was with this child physiatrist because my parents though something was wrong turned out it was the opposite and so I'd skip from grade to grade and now I'm trying grade ten because the council or whatever it's called said I wasn't allowed to graduate till I turn 12 so I basically have just been going from grade to grade" I said looking down at my tea

" interesting.... and my other question is why are you holding a giant stuffed bear?"

I looked over to Alfred
" because I couldn't leave Alfred in my room he's afraid of the dark" I said

" Alfred your teddy bear is an old butler" he said laughing I drank my tea

Once I finished Aidan walked me back to my room before descending to his two doors down.
I crawsled back into bed and fell asleep.
