"Courtney, wake up." Julie said. I could tell that she was at the foot of my bed. I huffed and threw a pillow at her.

"You missed." Connie said, obviously on the other side of the bed. "She's a goalie. She knows how to block things."

I huff again and throw my other pillow at her.

"Okay, that time you didn't miss." Connie said. She sounded like she was on the floor.

"Five more minutes." I groan.

"Nope, can't do it. The boys invited us to go roller blading with them ten minutes ago. We told them you'd come too." Julie told me. I open my eyes and roll out of bed. I pulled on a white T-shirt and plack knee-length shorts. I braid my hair , slip on a baseball hat and grab my roller blades. "Okay, let's go." I sigh tiredly.

"You are not a morning person, are you?" Connie asked.

"Nope" was my simple answer.

We met the boys in the lobby.

"Well, you sure took you time." Luis said.

"Blame her. She is not a morning person." Julie said, putting her arm around me.

"Never have been." I said. "Probably never will be." I stretched my arms and stumbled on something.

"Dean!" Julie cried. I whirled around to see Dean standing there, his leg out, trying to trip me.

"Why'd you do that?" Adam asked, standing next to me. Dean just shrugged.

I frowned. I knew why he hated me so much. I was a princess. He didn't like that, not at all.

"Well, let's get going." I said. We headed to a park that had a wide sidewalk.

"Wanna race?" Luis asked me as I tied my rollerblades.

"Prepared to lose?" I said with a smirk. He just smirked back and tossed Adam a watch.

"Time us!" He said. We took our places.

"Ready... set... go!" Adam yelled. We took off. Luis smirked as he passed me. I smirked back. We raced around the park, and when we neared the end, I surged ahead, passing Luis and stopping in front of Adam, panting. Luis came in seconds after, crashing into a tree. I grabbed his hand and helped him up.

"How long?" He panted.

"Courtney was 20.5 seconds and you were 27.2 seconds." Adam announced, looking at the watch.

"Well, at least I've got competition." Luis sighed.

"I have a Russian friend from when I lived in England who's pretty fast. If I ever get the chance to even try to get him to race you, I will."

"He's a Russian prince, isn't he?" Luis asked.

"Yes, but I bet I could somehow get him to race you. Eventually." I said, knitting my brows together. "Eh, I'll figure it out." I said, looking up at the sky.

"Thanks." Luis said with a smile.

"No prob." I said. "Now, are we all gonna go skating or are we just gonna stand here?" I asked. Connie let out a whoop as she grabbed Guy's hand and pulled him behind her. The rest of us followed.

"How many friends did you have in England?" Adam asked.

"Let's see... There was Carlos, Audrey, David, Zac, Evelyne and Tony. They were the Russian princes and princesses. Carlos and Zav did figure skating with me, but mostly Carlos since my he was closer to my age. Evelyne and Audrey were too girly for my taste, so we didn't get along well, especially me and Audrey. Zac and I weren't exactly best friends, and we liked to compete against each other a lot. David was really caring and kind. Tony was... well, he mostly kept to himself."

"How old were they?" Adam asked.

"Older than me. That's all I remember. Oh, Carlos is two years older then me, so he should be about fifteen right now." I said. "What about you? You got any friends back in Minnesota?"

"Nope, they're all here." Adam said, smiling down at me. "Well, before I became a Duck, I was a Hawk and I had some friends there, but after I became a Duck, I left 'em. They weren't like the Ducks, if you know what I mean."

"Yup." I said.

"Okay, you need a nickname." Connie said, she and Guy coming up to us suddenly.

"Me? Why?" I asked.

"Well, Courtney is a fancy name. You definetly aren't fancy." Guy pointed out.

"Can we call you 'Court'?" Dwayne asked, entering our conversation.

"Sure." I said with a smiled. "I like that."

After we rollerbladed in the park - and making sure Goldberg didn't get off track - we headed to a burger resturant for lunch. I ordered a cheeseburger, and when I counldn't finish it, I gave it to Fulton, who was going around our team with Dean, eating whatever was left that nobody wanted or could finish.

"I'm gonna regret giving that to him later, aren't I?" I sighed. Adam laughed. For some reason, his laugh made my heart flutter.
