You could say I was shocked. You could say I had the 'Deer in headlights' look plastered all over my face. Logan was still shirtless, and I still had sparkles all over my head, and Devon was still in the door.

"Hey... Dev." I started sheepishly, sitting up straighter and biting my lip to stop from screaming at him to forget what he saw. I don't think that would go over too well, and if anything, it would make this whole situation that much more memorable. One for the scrapbooks.

For having just walked in on his sister and his best friend being a couple and whatnot, Devon was looking really calm. Too calm.

"Dev?" I tried, and his eyes refocused on me, and he shot me a lazy smile.

"Oh, hey Nikki. I thought you would be over here." he calmly walked over to the kitchen, plucked a doughnut from the box, and then fell into the seat next to me. Logan awkwardly got up and shuffled to his bedroom like a fucking penguin (I kid you not, the guy actually did a penguin-like side step walk right in front of the TV that Dev was watching, eyeing him like he was a rabid dog) leaving me to deal with Devon and his alarmingly calm mood.

"So, uh, I'm going out with Logan." I scratched the back of my head when I heard the door to Logan's room click shut, pulling back a glitter covered hand.

"Mmmhhhmm." he said in a chill voice, never letting his eyes stray from the screen of the television. Obviously the art of Spongebob just captures the attention of lesser beings. That's my explanation, anyway.

"And uh, we've been going out for a couple weeks." I added, hoping to get some reaction out of the little idiot. It's like when you're mom catches you with food in your room, and you just know that a volcano's about to erupt, but nothing happens. It defies all logic.

I was expecting the unveiling of my hidden relationship with Logan to cause earthquakes. I had it all planned out like a little movie in my head.

Enter: massive Dev with glowing red eyes smashing a city to the ground, inhuman sounds escaping from his mouth.

I even had some theme music going, too, like the crazy loud stuff that plays during battle scenes that absolutely murders your hearing in the movie theaters.

But this calm creature in front of me was a surprise. A happy one, I assure you, like finding twenty bucks in a coat you hadn't worn in a while, but startling all the same. Here I was prepping my throat for a scream-down with my bro, but instead I find myself sitting in front of a telly-tubby, looking absolutely thrilled about watching Spongebob.

Maybe he's high.

"Are... are you mad?" I asked hesitantly, squinting my eyes to try and assess what was going on here.

"Nah, why would I be?" he did look at me this time, looking sideways to give me a funny look, like I was the one who was crazy.

"Uh.. I dunno, you just never liked the idea of me dating." I thought back to all the times he had pretty much killed my romantic life back in high school. If it was legal, Devon would be responsible for a crazy amount of murder.

"Nikklebockers," he sighed, looking at me like I was little child "that was when you wanted to date other guys."

"So you're okay with Logan and I dating?"

"Bitch, I've waited for this relationship like a farmer waits for rain!" he then proceeded to start singing Hillary Duff's 'Let the Rain Fall Down'.

Logan still hadn't made a grand appearance, and I was starting to think that he had escaped the apartment via bedroom window. It really wouldn't surprise me. Devon got up, and starting dancing to the song he was singing, and I fled the room when he picked up the remote for a microphone. Logan was smushed up against the door, his ear becoming one with the wood, apparently trying to listen in on what he assumed to be my murder.
