"What did you just say?" I asked raising both my eyebrows which were about to pop out of my face.
"Oh wait.. Umm I'm a little stupid right now so bear with me" said Joe
"You're always stupid Joe, you know that" I said.
"I know I know but I'm just wondering.. can I call a girl that doesn't even know me special or not?" Asked Joe
"You know what Joe? If I ever had a chimpanzee I'm sure as hell it would've smarter than you. ARE YOU FUCKIN KIDDING ME?!" I yelled
"What?!" Asked Joe laughing
"Okay okay I'll stop yelling, I'm not angry, but first tell me.. Do you even know that girl?" I said trying to calm down and figure out that retard.
"Umm.. not exactly" said Joe
"Wh.. why are you alive man? What are you doing amongst the rest of us normal human beings?" I said
"Cut the jokes Nick I'm trying to be serious here" said Joe who's terribly failing to look serious.
"You're trying to be serious?! That's a good one. Okay Joe I'll play along with you. Let's start with the basics, how on earth can you call a girl you don't even know special?" I asked
"Oh.. umm maybe I was exaggerating when I said she's special, what I meant is that I like her" said Joe finally realizing how dumb he is.
"Okay.. now you're starting to make sense. So what you meant is that you like a girl that you know nothing about" I said
"Not exactly nothing, she's a friend of a friend" said Joe
"What friend?" I said
"Some girl I meet at the gym" said Joe
"Woah hold on a sec.. all your girl friends are older than us.. does that mean that this girl is.." my eyes were wide open waiting for Joe to say
"yeah Nick she's older than us. That's hot. Isn't it?" Said Joe winking and giggling.Generally I have no problem with dating older girls, they're more mature and hotter anyway, but this dude has taken it to a whole new level, he only thinks of older girls. And God how many times he got rejected cause they think he's too young for them.
"Seriously Joe?!" I said
"C'mon Nick, I know what you're thinking, but this time is different" said Joe
"How so?" I asked
"I dunno.. this time I think my chances are high" said Joe
"Whatever. I won't argue with you this time, just don't make a fool out of yourself, okay?" I said
I knew it was pointless to argue with him, he would do what he wanted to either way.
"Okay" said Joe
"But I asked you if there were someone special, and you say that this girl isn't special" I said
"You know Nick that all girls are the same to me, there's no one special. If I saw a hot chick I'd like her, that's all" said Joe
"Then why in the world you got me excited and said she was special?!" I asked
"I thought if I categorize a girl as special that would make her special but I guess I was wrong" said Joe
"Anyways. is she even pretty?" I asked, because I knew that Joe's standards were below acceptable.
"According to whom?" Asked Joe
"What do you mean?" I asked
"You know what I mean Nick. you don't like anybody. you never call a girl beautiful or attractive" said Joe
"Bullshit! I always say that Angelina Jolie and Emma Stone are gorgeous" I protested
"Dear god!! Of course you do!! I'm talking about normal people here not these goddesses. c'mon Nick give the girls a chance, you can't spend your life comparing them to those celebs" said Joe
"Fine Joe. is she pretty? By your standards." I asked
"Yes! She's gorgeous!" Said Joe with he's eyes glowing
"Great! Then go for it" I saidWe continued walking till we reached the gym.
"How about lifting some weights?" I asked winking
"Why not? I already have my practice clothes up in the locker" said Joe
"Same here, let's go" I saidFinally after two hours we finished, and I opened the locker to check my phone and to get the towel.
I had like 15 missed calls from mom, and 5 from Chris.
Surprisingly Joe also had some missed calls from my mom."What's your mom calling me for?" Asked Joe
"I have no idea. she called me too" I saidI have to admit.. I wasn't worried because my mom always exaggerates, always have a reaction ten times bigger than the action.
I called my mom to see what did she want.
"Nick!" Shouted mom
"Yes, ma. sorry I am at the gym and couldn't check my phone till now" I said
"No problem sweetheart. I have great news for you" said mom
"I'm listening.." I said. you know that feeling in your heart you get when you're in a plane and it's landing or an elevator is coming down quickly and your heart just drops down to your feet.
"Your score is finally available!!" Said mom
"And?" I asked anxiously
"YougotthescoreandGPArequiredforthecollegeyouadmittedat" said mom
"Since when did you become a rapper ma? I couldn't understand a word. calm down and speak clearly" I said, I was really nervous and couldn't take that suspense anymore
"Sorry dear, I'm just so excited. I said you got the score and the GPA required for the college you admitted at" said mom
"YEESSSSSS YES YES YES YES" I said throwing punches in the air
"Did you receive any letters from the universities?" I asked
"Yes honey, I received one from the one you admitted at its dentistry school" said mom giggling, she wanted me to become a dentist like my dad.
I didn't mind that actually, but if I got to choose I'd choose medical school.
"What about the medical school?" I asked
"Ugh..umm.. it's just a matter of time sweetheart, I'm sure it'll be here in a day or two" said mom
"Thanks mom, I'm coming home in like 15 minutes" I said and hung upJoe was showering when I was talking to my mom, so when he entered the locker room he asked what did she want.
"She was calling to tell me my results" I said taking my towel to the showers
"And?" Asked Joe
"And.. you're now talking to a future dentist" I said laughing
"That's great bro" said Joe "I knew you could do it"I showered for like 10 minutes singing terribly:
Because I'm happyyyy, clap along if you feel like a room without a roof.
Clap along if you feel like happiness is a truth. clap alooong if yo-..
"Shut the hell up and come out" shouted Joe
"Fine" I saidI came out laughing but was surprised when I found Joe looking down to the ground and holding tears in his eyes.
"What's wrong man?" I asked
"Al.." Said Joe with the words barely coming out of his mouth
"What's wrong with Al?" I asked
Joe cleared his throat and took a deep breath and said "Al's mother is dead"
