"Enlighten me" said Chris sarcastically.
"Why don't you simply ask Amanda?" I said.
"Woah man! You're a freakin genius, you deserve a noble prize for that" said Chris.
"Hold on a minute, do I smell sarcasm here?" I asked.
"Obviously" said Chris.
"I'm being serious here, Chris" I said.
"Well, if you had a tiny shred of this thing that may sound a little bit strange for you called brain, you'd realize that I have done that intelligent plan of yours from the first time I had suspicions" said Chris.
"Oh.. Okay, what did Amanda tell you?" I said.
"She told me that Nora doesn't talk about that stuff with anyone" said Chris.
"Even with Amanda?! Her best friend?!" I asked.
"Exactly" said Chris.
"Dude, that girl's got serious problems" I said.
"Tell me about it" said Chris.
"So what're you going to do?" I said.
"I have no idea, she keeps talking to me about prom and all that shit, and I just play along" said Chris.
"You do know, Chris, that prom is just a week away. Don't you?" I said.
"I do" said Chris.
"Then you have to make a decision" I said.
"Don't make a big deal out of it bro, it's just a goddamn party with some formal clothes" said Chris.
"You know I don't give a damn about prom, Chris. I'm talking about you and Nora, if you can't make up your mind on something as trivial as that, then that thing between you two is doomed" I said.
"Listen, Nick. I'll say this just once, no twice to you and Nora, If Nora can't sort out her priorities, then I can't be with her anymore. I'm not gonna make someone a priority to me, while all I'm to them is just a choice" said Chris.
"That's my boy" I said proudly.
"I'm not kidding, Nick" said Chris thinking I was making fun of him.
"Neither do I. You really couldn't be more straight forward, and you've made your situation crystal clear" I said.
"Okay enough about me, what about you?" Said Chris.
"What about me?" I said.
"C'mon man, Don't act dumb on me" said Chris.
"Alright, as usual I'm forever alone" I said.
"Seriously Nick! You haven't asked anybody to prom yet?!" Said Chris.
"Well I can't just go with anybody" I said.
"Why didn't you ask your girl?" Said Chris.
"My girl?" I said.
"Emma, you dumbass" said Chris.
"I will as soon as I'm sure she isn't seeing anyone right now" I said.
"How do you expect to figure that out?" Said Chris.
"I'll ask so.." I was then immediately interrupted by Chris "Sophie of course".
"Well.. yeah, you have any better idea?" I said
"Nah man that's not the point, I told you before she'll never help you with that stuff" said Chris.
"And why is that?" I said.
"Cause she has feelings for you" said Chris.
"Okay, I guess it's time for you to stop that rubbish falling off your mouth" I said.
"Listen Nick, I see that and so does Joe. You're the only one who's too fool to get it" said Chris.
"I really never thought that humans' minds could be so narrow, but here we are, witnessing two live proofs" I said."Listen Chris, each and everyone of us woke up one day and found out that they've got brothers and sisters they've never known before, we never chose them, but I changed that, like I chose my friends, I chose Sophie to be my best friend, my sister" I said.
"But you love her. right?" Said Chris.
"Of course I do" I said "Don't you love your sisters? Don't you want to see them happy? Don't you try your very best just to see their smiles? Don't you lose your mind when they're sad? Don't you get jealous of the guys close to them?" I said.
"I do" said Chris.
"Then you finally got my point" I said.
"Fine Nick, but that's only you" said Chris.
"What do you mean?" I said
"What if she really loves you? I mean really really in love with you?" Said Chris.
"I hope from the bottom of my heart, Chris that she isn't" I said.
"Well, when will you ask Sophie about it?" Asked Chris.
"Later tonight, but as usual she wouldn't say anything useful" I said.
"What about our dumbass of a friend?" Said Chris laughing.
"Nah man don't mind joe, he wouldn't mind picking up a pot and calling it a date" I said laughing.
"Okay, I'll talk to you later" said Chris. We hung up and I put down the phone resting my shoulder from that goddamn long call, seriously me and Chris talked on the phone for too long, that's gay as hell.
"I really like Emma, you know?"
"I know, but do you love her?"
"You know me best I'm not into that love crap"
"And since I know you best I know you're just hiding behind your selective words and sarcasm just to hide the simple truth"
"What truth?"
"That you're afraid to fall in love again"
"Again? I never fell in love"
"You're literally lying to yourself"
"So I'm a mad man talking to himself and a liar"
"Exactly"
"So what should I- I mean we do?"
"I don't know, we're one. remember? If you don't know how am I supposed to know dummy?"
"Oh, you've got a point""Am I really taking advice from myself?
Have I gone that mad?
Should I call Sophie?
No, I'm not in a mood for arguing now.
I mean.. I know that she really cares for me and she thinks that Emma is no good for me, but she doesn't understand.
I have a thing for Emma, even I don't know what to call it, cause love is too much of a big word to say without being a hundred percent sure that you mean it, but I really like her, but sometimes I hate her. I hate the way she treats me carelessly.
Does she really do that or am I exaggerating?
I know that I act dull in front of her, is that the reason?
Goddammit Nickolas! You are pathetic, since when you care about a girl that much? You know you're gonna get yourself hurt again anyway.
Yet again you can't spend the rest of your life pushing people away.
What the hell is that equation?!
Fall in love, get hurt then the result is sadness.
Push people away, feel lonely then again the result is sadness.
What the fuck am I supposed to do?!
Fall in love and get the girl and drive off in the sunset and live happily ever after?!
Well this ain't a fairytale.
Why am I even angry about it? There's so much more to life than just a girl, even if you love her-I mean like her.. whatever.
I've got to stop talking to myself and do something useful.
Oh, is that a bed? Yeah it's my bed. I love you, I'm coming to you, you're the only one who understands me"I fell asleep hoping that by the time I wake up every tiny little trivial problem will be easily automatically solved like pieces of puzzle falling perfectly into place.
I mean.. don't you all do that?
