44: Fire vs Lightning

  Laxus was standing inside the Kardia Cathedral with a proud smirk on his face, after he had activated Fairy Law all over the city of Magnolia to wipe everyone from existence. He was laughing at his victory, until the smoke cleared to reveal Natsu, Gajeel, and Levy still very much alive.

Laxus: "What! But... How? Why are you all still alive!?" he gasped, in complete shock.

Gajeel: "Are both of ok?" he asked, looking between the other two.

Levy: "Yes, I'm fine." she replied.

Natsu: "I'm okay too." he sighed, breathing heavily.

Freed: "All the other guild members, and Magnolia's citizens are safe as well. Not a single person was killed." stated a new voice, they looked to see Freed walking into the building. He began making his way towards the church, after his encounter with Solus.

Laxus: "That can't be! My Fairy Law was perfect!" he cried, in disbelief.

Freed: "It was your heart, Laxus. You inherited more than just the master's strength and magic. You also have a heart that feels for your friends! Fairy Law only affects those the caster sees as his enemy." he said.

Levy: "That means. The true feelings he has deep down were revealed through his magic." she said, knowing what he mean't.

Freed: "This what you truly feel. Magic never lies, Laxus." he told the Lightning user, as he stopped walking.

Laxus: "No! Anyone who stands in my way is my enemy!" he shouted, not believing this.

Freed: "Laxus, just give up on this. Go to the master." he responded, with a calm tone.

Laxus: "Who gives a damn about him?!? I am ME! Not just the "grandson" of some old man! I am Laxus!" he bellowed, lightning crackling all over the church. The other four moved to avoid the electricity. 

Natsu: "We all no that! Don't get so puffed up, you jerk! Does being Gramps' grandson really make you so different from the rest of us!? Stop screaming about blood relatives! Everyone in Fairy Tail is part of the same family!!" he cried, charging up his fire around him. 

Laxus: "And what the hell do you know!?" he demanded, his lightning increasing.

Natsu: "So I don't know! Aren't we still guild mates anyway? None of us know! That's why we help each other out! Laxus!" he shouted, running over to punch him with his flames.

Laxus: "Shut up, Natsu!" he barked, punching his flaming fist with his lightning. Before the two sprung  through the roof, starting to exchange blows in the sky above the cathedral.

Natsu: "Even if the guild dies, it will never be yours! Because it's our home to return to!" he exclaimed, punching and kicking at his opponent until he was blasted down onto the church's roof.

Laxus: "Did you seriously think you could beat me!?" he scoffed, landing on the roof as well. While Freed, Gajeel, and Levy watched from the ground floor.

Natsu: "The guild isn't yours! Just think about it, Laxus!" he grunted, standing up.

Laxus: "Shut up! Breakdown Fist of the Lightning Dragon!" he roared, charging up his lightning around his fist before summoning his yellow glyph which released a giant fist of lightning towards the younger wizard. The fist exploded around Natsu, who was seen against roof once the explosion cleared. "It's about a 100 years to soon for you to be preaching me, weakling!" he said, before he saw the fire mage stand up but struggling.

Freed: "He can still stand?" he gasped, in surprise.

Levy: "That's enough, Natsu..." she cried, worried for him.
