67: The Final Begins

   The very next day, everyone had woken up with excitement for the the Final Event of the Grand Magic Games. The mages were in their hotels preparing for the event, which was a battle between every mage of all eight participating teams. 

 Solus had forgotten to tell Fairy Tail about what he discussed with Occult Vanguard the night before. He knew everyone would be stressed in their hopes to win for Lucy's sake, he didn't want to increase their stress by telling them of potential danger.

Mirajane: "Good morning, darling." she said, walking up behind and hugging him. They were currently in his hotel room, with Cana and Erza waking up after sharing the bed just like the night before.

Cana: "You ready for the battle today?" she asked, already drinking some beer.

Solus: "Yeah. I intend to win this for Fairy Tail, and to save Lucy." he replied, turning towards them with a smile.

Erza: "We all have the same intentions. I'm certain we have a fair chance of victory. The mages on our team are all exceptional." she said, walking over and kissing him on the lips with a smile of her own.

Solus: "You're right. I just hope the king holds his end of the bargain once we win, or else I'll bring the whole palace down on him." he said, with a serious tone. The girls laughed, knowing how much he'd go to protect his fellow guild mates.

Mira: "Oh, I'm sure you would. But don't worry, we'll make sure to rescue Lucy and Yukino like we planned." she assured him, with a giggle. Herself, Natsu, Wendy, Lily, Happy, and Carla had made a plan to save the two Celestial Mages during the Games' Event.  They would keep a telepathic connection with Warren, who would keep everyone else informed of their status. 

 Vanessa would stay with the rest of Fairy Tail in their private booth, but she would be ready to go after Mira and the others if they needed back up. The Vampire was excellent at stealth, so she would be able to sneak out of the colosseum, and make her way to where the others would be without anyone noticing.

Cana: "I'm sure she and the others will be okay, babe." she mused, noticing his concern for Mira. They knew Solus cared about all his friends and everyone in Fairy Tail, but the ones he loved were on a level a little higher than the others.

Mira: "I'm happy my handsome barbarian wants to come along to protect me. But I promise the others and I will be fine. And Vanessa will back us up if we need help." she giggled, kissing him on the lips. "Besides, we need you in today's battle. People might get a little suspicious if you weren't in the arena today, and you're probably our guild's strongest member, so it'll be better for you to join our team participating in today's battle." she said, with a smile.

Solus: "Alright, I suppose all we have left is to go and win the Games." he sighed, he and the girls smiling in agreement. Before they got dressed and headed out the door, joined by their Guild Mates as they walked to the ground floor of their hotel.

Chapati: "Hello ladies and gentlemen, I hope you all are ready! Because today, is the final event of the Grand Magic Games! Today myself and Mr. Yajima are joined by the Games' known and loved mascot, Mato!!" he announced, as the cheering crowd filled into the Domus Flau colosseum.

Mato: "Good luck everyone!" the mascot encouraged, waving from the commentator's booth.

Chapati: "Before we introduce the participating teams, Yajima shall explain the rules for the final day's event!" he stated, turning to the former Council member who smiled.

Yajima: "The rules are quite simple. This event is a battle between each of the eight teams, which shall take place all over the city of Crocus. Each team will select one of their mages as the team leader. If you eliminate an opponent, then your team shall earn a point. But if the team leader gets defeated, the opposing team will be awarded five points." he explained.
