CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT:
"Pops?"

Jaerin and Jeongguk started attending the famous School of Performing Arts - Seoul a little over month ago,

Though they don't attend school like typical, normal teenagers as they still have to practice and do idol stuffs that keeps their schedule tight and busy as always,

Jaerin doesn't get enough sleep the past few weeks as she spends her free time with either studying or practicing more, she admits that she's not the best and smartest student that's why she's trying her best to prove that she's not using the excuse of being an idol to skip school.

"Hello," she sleepily greeted the staffs on her way to her vocal practice while bowing, rubbing her eyes and continous yawns escaping her lips.

She opened the door to the studio where she's having her vocal practice as she bowed 90 degrees to her teacher with a small smile.

"Hey kid, how are you?" her vocal coach asked as she handed her the papers that contained the song that they're going to sing and practice,

"Tired." Jaerin answered shortly as she grabbed her water bottle and took a sip before sitting up straight, skimming thru the papers she's holding.

"Is your vocal chords in good condition today?" the coach asked, making Jaerin frown as she shook her head slightly, the raspiness of her throat making her upset.

"I'm sorry," Jaerin quietly said as she let her head hang low as she played and fiddled with the loose thread of her white shirt,

"It's okay, let's practice shall we?" her vocal coach said as she nodded and coughed a little, sending a quiet prayer to the heavens to not let her voice crack and let the practice go smoothly without any problems.

The first songs went well but as the practice goes by, her voice cracks more and more, making her feel frustrated over it.

She took her almost empty water bottle and drank from it again, gripping it tightly that it squished the water bottle and made a small sound.

"Are you okay, Jae?" her vocal coach asked as the said girl shook her head, frustration creeping up her veins that made her blood boil.

"I-I can't reach the notes, it's supposed to be easy because my v-vocal range is wide! I can reach it before but why can't I do it today?" she said as she ran a hand thru her hair, making it messier and go to different directions.

Though her singing voice and her actual voice is really good and angelic, it's pleasant to hear, she always doubt her talents especially when it comes to dancing.

Jaerin has a unique voice and her vocal range is surprisingly wide, but she's just careless when it comes to herself that she always get sick,

Her voice had gone raspy and her throat is dry despite drinking so much water that she has to come to the restroom every now and then.

She admits that she's tired and stressed due to the schoolworks that has piled up and the practice that's been going on everyday, she tries to learn the choreography immediately so that she can go over her schoolworks and do it ad fast as she can.

Her vocal teacher looked at her, pity and sadness in her eyes as she sat still in her chair, giving the younger girl space to collect her thoughts.

"You're a wonderful singer, Jaerin. Your voice is not just in it's perfect condition that's why you can't reach the notes. I'll dismiss you early today, make sure to drink lots of fluid so that your throat won't feel dry and raspy, go home and rest, kid." she softly said that made Jaerin lift her head up, meeting the teacher's eyes that soon turned into lines when she smiled.
