III. Trouvaille

Third Person's POV
It has been a long time and Rengoku Kyojuro still hasn't showed up from his recent mission concerning a train.

Because of this Oyakata-sama has decided to send a certain group of demon slayers, The Gonpachiro Squad, to help The Flame Hashira on his mission.

They were all scattered around the house, the maroon haired boy with a scar on his forehead was on his way to have his broken jaw checked up.

The yellow fading to orange haired boy was talking to a box, well, he was talking to a girl with pink eyes who was transformed in to a demon inside the box.

The boy with a boar mask but had a feminine face was annoying a certain girl with blue eyes and twin pigtails using butterfly hair pins just like the ones all the residents of the Butterfly mansion have.

Tanjiro's POV

I was having my jaw checked up by Shinobu-san because, apparently her tsuguko, kicked me too hard causing my jaw to break.

Together with the two of my friends who, also acquired some major and minor injuries, to not have some missions for the time being while our bodies were still recovering.

Right, I needed to ask Shinobu-san about something... Ahh, yes, I remember now, The Dance of The Sun God.

"Shinobu-san, Can I ask you something?" The second she finished my check up I quickly asked her, she just glanced at me and then hummed in response.

"Have you ever heard of The Dance Of The Sun God?" My voice raised a little out of excitement. She just gave me a small smile, "I haven't", "N-nani?! Are you sure Shinobu-san?" I said in a shocked and pleading tone, "I haven't" she said the same answer again, I started explaining to her the breathing technique that my father used, but to no avail, she hasn't heard of the breathing technique, ever.

"But, since you are going to a mission with Kyojuro-san, maybe he'll tell you about the breathing technique that your father used, maybe he'll know more about it compared to me since, he is The Flame Pillar after all" she smiled again.

After I had my jaw looked at, I left the Insect Hashira's clinic and wandered around the estate. I wanted to properly say goodbye and thank all of the people here for taking care of the three of us before we leave. I saw Aoi but it looks like Inosuke was talking to her.

I soon saw the triplets Sumi, Kiyo and Naho, in the kitchen, I wanted to thank them too, they had helped taking care of us. Even at a very young age, they already know so much about medicine and treating the injured.

I walked around when I saw a girl around my age with pinkish-purple eyes and her hair was tied to the side with a familiar butterfly design. This is Shinobu-san's tsuguko, sitting in front of the flower garden.

Kanao Tsuyuri... She's so strong and agile, yet so gentle and delicate. I must thank her and the others' patience when they were still training us and with us.

"Ohayo Kanao! There you are" I waved my hand at her and I started to approach her, she just looked up at me and smiled, "We're going to a mission now, I just wanted to thank all you for everything you've done" I said, but she just stared at me.

There was an awkward silence between us. Out of the blue she pulled out a small bronze coin from inside her pocket and she tossed it in the air making it flip around, What is she doing?

I just awkwardly stood there waiting for her to do something. When the coin finally landed on her palm she looked up at me and smiled.

"We were just doing what we were told to do, no need to thank us. Have a safe mission. Goodbye!!" She said in a smooth calm voice.

She can talk?! I thought she was mute

"What's that?" I asked while pointing at the coin, "Goodbye!!" She said again, "Why did you do that Kanao?" I asked once more, she looked forward staring at the flowers.

"I can't decide on my own. I need to have orders from Master before I do something, So I flip this coin if I can't decide on what I'm going to do" she sighed.

This gave me an idea, "Kanao, can I borrow that coin?" I smiled, she handed it over to me and attentively watched what I was doing with the coin.

Ack! This is a bad idea! I shouldn't have thought of this!

"We're going to a mission. I promise to give this back to you when we return, so from now on, you have to start making choices on you own" I put the coin in my pocket.

"So...You have got to remember, making choices comes from the heart" I explained, she looked at me with a questioning look, "See, you're doing it again, I mean, you don't have to agree if you don't want to" I whispered, but deep inside I wanted her to agree, this isn't for me, she needs to learn how to decide for herself

People come and go, there's no guarantee what tomorrow will bring.

"O-okay, but you have to promise to comeback safe" she looked at me with full determination but her words made me flustered.

You have to comeback safely for the coin!! I mentally face palmed.

"H-hai! I, Tanjiro Kamado, promise to comeback safely and give your coin back to you" I stuck out my pinky finger. "I, Kanao Tsuyuri, too promise that when you're away, I will make my choices that comes from my heart" she said as she wrapped her pinky finger around mine making me smile and flushed at the same time.

"Please comeback safely Tanjiro. That coin is very dear to me" she put on a melancholic smile as if she was thinking of something or someone.
