Cameras being clicked. The flashlight became the sole source of light in the dark alley. The light would have been blinding for a common individual but not for the ones who grew so accustomed to it. Cameramen surrounding a body that laid stiff on the cold wet concrete. Water splattering as people ran over the puddles pacing in and out of the barricade tape.
The body was of a well-built middle-aged man. The victim had been stabbed four times on his torso which seemed to be the cause of his death. His blood stained the checked shirt he wore, his skin glistening with his sweat. It was a crime of passion. He was the third serial murder that had taken place in the city of Busan. The first was a woman in her twenties, the second being an old man probably in his sixties both killed by the same killer.
How do they know?
Well, the ring finger of the victim was bluish purple. A zip tie was tied around it tightly stopping the blood circulation, a common act in all the killer's murders. Along with another that everyone couldn't help but notice.
The acronym'JJK'carved with perfection on each victim's forehead and the blood bled gave it a crimson color. For a crime of passion, the murderer took quite an effort to perfect it. The killer flaunted his art skills along with testing the officers' patience.
The killer was a ghost. No evidence left behind. Not a drop of blood anywhere around the victim. No other part of the victims' body was damaged other than the torso, forehead, and the ring finger.
"There are no signs of struggle," said the forensic investigator sighing as she failed to find any evidence again.
"I still don't understand how he did it, the victim is six feet tall and is quite well-built how can there be no signsof struggle unless the man we are searching for is trained," said the detective "Not only that but the stab marks on the torso are a definite sign that it was a crime of passion for the victim to not have any sign of struggle is unlikely" added another. The other officers nodded in agreement. These murders had gotten the entire precinct worked up. Staying up all night was now a routine for them.
"We are dealing with a ghost!" the detective yelled frustratedly so that all the officers would know.
"Sir! I found something" a voice yelled.
The detectives whipped their heads towards the voice "What is it? It better be good"
"Yes sir it is, all the victims have scraped scalps but they didn't bleed which means they were dragged,"
"The victims didn't bleed that means that the place was close but we still can't be certain" declared the detective walking around the body.
A lady detective sighed "Come on, Jae-joong we need to go home, you know our daughter won't sleep until you tell her a bedtime story"
"Ah yes, she won't, but tomorrow we need to work overtime," said Detective Jae-joong sighing.
"Of course we have to," she said.
