You were getting ready to go to your best friend, Beau's hockey game. You and Beau had been close since you grew up together in Gardena, California. He was in the NHL, hoping back and fourth between the Wilkes Barre-Scranton Penguins of the AHL and the Pittsburgh Penguins of the NHL. You took a plane from Toronto to Pittsburgh to see him play.
--Skip the plane ride/car ride--
You arrived at CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh after a half hour car ride to get there. You couldn't wait to see Beau because you hadn't seen him since the NHL Draft in 2012. You were told by Beau to go to the locker room an hour before the game so you made your way to the locker room. It smelled of sweaty hockey equipment, and you kind of liked that smell. "Beau!" You shouted like a five year-old in a candy shop. "Y/n!" Beau shouted back. "I haven't seen you in so long!" You exclaimed, while pulling him in for a hug. "Same to you! I missed you lots." He answered back. "So how's life in the 'Burgh?" You asked him. You had moved for Cali to Toronto, Ontario, Canada to pursue your dream job, (y/d/j). "It's amazing. The people here are nice, I have a cool place to live,and it's affordable, and I have cool teammates. How's life in Canada?" "It's great! It's a much better fit for me than Cali actually." "Well that's nice. I'm happy you love it up there." "And I'm happy you love it down here." You smiled at him. "Well, I have to get ready for the game but how bout we catch up after, say maybe go to dinner at Applebee's?" "Yeah! I love Applebee's." You spoke. "Ok then it's set. I'll see you then." "Ok. Kick some arse, alright?" "I will. See ya later!" You both said goodbye and you ran to your seat. You had really great seats. Right next to the Penguins bench on the ice.
----Skip the game----
The Penguins beat their rivals, The Flyers, 4-0 and Beau got a hat trick. You went down to the locker room to wait for Beau. After about 20 minutes, he was ready to go.
----Skip the car ride----
You were seated quickly in Applebee's, to your delight. The whole dinner Beau seemed to be flirting with you but you brushed it off because you figured with looks, like that he must have a girlfriend. "Beau, can you drive me to my hotel?" "Why don't you stay at my place until you leave?" Beau asked you. "Would you mind?" You questioned. "No, not at all. I would enjoy your company." "Aww, thank Beau. You don't have to if you don't want to." "No I'd love to."
You guys arrived at Beau's condo and you put your suitcase in the guest room. "y/n, may I ask you a question?" "Yes, of course. Anything." "Will you be my girlfriend?" "Yes, Beau. Of course! I thought you had a girlfriend so that's why I dismissed your flirting at dinner." Beau came up to you and kissed you on the cheek. " I guess now I could call you Baeu." You laughed at your terrible pun. "I guess you could."
And that was the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
