Piper Chaves-Tordjman
Toronto, CanadaSince she was small, Piper heard stories about Soulmates and dreamed of meeting hers. The idea that her eye color could change one day was incredible, and she couldn't wait to feel all the emotions when two soulmates find each other, and she was also really curious to know what eye color her soulmate had, would it be green, brown, grey or blue? Would her eye color change when she is 17 years old? Or is her soulmate younger than her? There were so many questions that were finally going to be discovered at midnight of Piper's birthday. She was really excited.
Because of her anxiety, Piper's birthday would be small, just some friends and family, and she couldn't be happier, she despised attention. She packed her dance bag before leaving the studio. She turned off the lights and locked the door. It was already late and she knew she shouldn't be there that late, but she needed to work on her Ballet technique and some acro (a style that she was not comfortable with), and she had access to the keys since Emily completely trusted her. Piper went outside where she found her brother's car waiting for her, James would always pick Piper from the studio when he was in town, it was a type of tradition.
"Hey Pipsqueak..." She heard James say. She rolled her eyes before putting the seat belt on. "How was dance?"
"It was great actually." She said opening a cereal bar, after her embarrassment with her acro skills, Piper decided to leave A-Troupe and be with B-Troupe, where she could practice her dancing skills in peace. "Your acro tips seem to be working. I feel my side aerial stronger, I'm practicing for my front aerial, hopefully I will get it soon. And I'm also trying the back handspring step out."
"I see that joining B-Troupe was a good idea..." He started carefully. It was never safe to talk about A-Troupe near Piper. "You seem more confident..."
"Well yeah, you can say so. There is not much pressure on me anymore, and I have time to practice and improve my skills, but..." She sighed. "A-Troupe was my dream, and knowing that I'm not good enough... It's just hard."
"Piper you are good enough. You joined A-Troupe, and you decided to leave them because you know you needed time to improve. Riley told me how many times you and Emily stayed at the studio until really late, or all the times she asked you back on A-Troupe." Piper gave a small smile. "You are more than enough, and you should believe in yourself more."
Piper nodded and gave her older brother a smile. She missed him so much. She always felt so alone when he was gone. But he always made her smile, no matter where.
They got home some time later, she could hear Riley and her mom voices, they were probably discussing where some piece of decoration should be.
"Look at the two loves of my life..." James said entering the room. Piper gave a small laugh. "It should be over there." James pointed at the wall on the left. While Riley rolled her eyes, their mom murmured "why didn't I think of that?"
"Hello Piper." Complimented Riley. "You should get changed. James and I were thinking about watching a movie, and then blowing out the candles."
"Sounds good. Amy is coming in 30 minutes." Riley nodded and gave a small smile before leaving for the kitchen.
"Hello sweetheart. Was your day productive?" Asked Deborah to her daughter.
"It was, thanks mama" She responded kissing Deborah on the cheek. Piper needed to say that she was terrified. In less than four hours she would have a connection with her soulmate. Even the word terrified looked small in regard to her feeling right now. She decided to take a really long bath, where she could relax, she really needed to relax or she would have an anxiety attack.
