Eye to Eye || Part 4

If I Could Fly

"Excited?" Amy asked when Piper opened the door.

"Hello Amy. I'm fine, how are you?" Asked Piper sarcastically. Amy tended to forget normal formalities when excited, and Piper became more sarcastic while nervous.

Amy rolled her eyes before smiling and giving Piper a tight hug. Piper used to overthink things. "I'm excited, and you are overthinking like always..." Piper gave a small nervous laugh, she was caught. "Everything is going to be alright, you will see..." Amy comforted Piper, while they walked to Amy mom's car. "You have the tickets right?"

Piper nodded while showing the tickets. "Here, keep them." Amy took the tickets and put them in her bag.

"One last look before we go?" Asked Amy before going into the car.

Piper nodded and covered her eyes. It was the arena, her soulmate was in the middle of the stage but he was moving, probably dancing she thought. The arena was empty meaning that they probably were checking the sound.

"He is in the arena already... Probably sound check?" She asked and Amy nodded entering the car.

While Piper was nervous, Finn could not be happier. Even though he was always really nice and sweet to the people around him, today he was especially nice. He hugged his vocal couch after their class, he did all the dance moves perfectly and without complaining which was a first, he also decided to play the piano instead of the guitar, which again, was a first.

"What is up with your brother?" Mitch, the guitarist, asked Lia. "He looks... more weird than normal, if that is possible?"

"His soulmate is coming today." Lia said shrugging her shoulders while checking her instagram feed.

"And you didn't tell anyone?" He asked in disbelief. It was a huge achievement, Finn always talked about his soulmate and Mitch most of the time, was the one who needed to listen to Finn, since Lia would run away and the rest of the band would make fun of him, so Mitch was Finn's best choice.

"Everyone knows..." She smirked. Mitch raised one of his eyebrows, what did she mean by 'everyone knows...' "My dad told everyone this morning..." She finally looked at him and realisation hit her. "You didn't know? Aren't you Finn's best friend?"

"Oh wow thanks, Lia! I was already feeling bad about myself, don't make me feel worse." He said annoyed. But she did have a point, Finn and him had a big friendship, why would the blond guy hide that from him? When Finn's eyes changed he called Mitch in the same night. "I think now it makes sense why he wanted us to learn a new song..."

"It's quite special that one... Finn wrote by himself, even though I gave him the idea." Lia said smiling towards Finn. Mitch gave a weird look to the girl. "What?"

"Finn? Alone?" He asked and she nodded. "Well, that song must have a lot of feelings. The last one he wrote by himself was Two of Us." He stated and looked at Finn who was talking to the choreographer. "Yoo Finn, we should practice for Temporary Fix, I had a crazy idea for my guitar solo." Mitch said getting closer to the younger boy.

"Sure! Hey dad, how many more songs do we have time to practice?" Finn asked, looking at his father.

"One last one, we need to open the arena in 30 minutes. You perform in around three hours." Finn nodded and walked to the middle of the stage calling for everyone to practice.

"Let's practice Temporary Fix, guys. Then we can go prepare ourselves." The band nodded and the dancer got into place while the sound and light engineers adjusted everything.
