chapter one - The Move

"I don't want to move" Katie complained to Matt as she loaded one of the last boxes into the car. "We have to, it will be fun" he lectured but Katie wasn't so sure. Although her brother was smart and got things right most of the time she was sure he was wrong about this. Why would she want to leave the city where she grew up, where all of her friends where?

She turned around and sprinted up to her now tidy room (because there was nothing in it)and picked up the last remaining object that lay on her bed." Katie we need to go now, hurry up" a voice yelled from downstairs "coming dad" she placed the object in her back pack and went downstairs.
They got in the car and set off

The car pulled up at a motel and Katie hoped out glad to stretch her legs after the long 9 hour car journey. "we'll stay here tonight then drive to the new house" Sam told them as he went to get them rooms. "while dad does that we can charge up rover and you can show me the new programming you added" Matt said as he pulled out the charging wire.

Once they got their room Katie showed Matt the new things rover was programmed to do.

"rover, up" Katie the instructed small triangular based prism.

On cue the small robot hovered up of the ground

"rover, flip" rover flipped around 360 degrees. Matt clapped his hands as Katie instructed the robot to and in her hand.

For the rest of the evening Katie was programming rover to follow her around. Sam her dad went and got the a take away and they watched a movie. The next morning rover followed Katie into the car, she sat in the back next to the window she put on her headphones and selected her favourite playlist on Spotify. She watched the scenery roll past the window, her eyes started to close and she fell into a deep sleep.

When she woke up again they where only ten minutes away from their new house. She found that rover had to be re-charged. she checked her phone 'no service , great' she would actually have to talk to someone. "we're here" Katie's mum said shaking the keys to their new house. The car came to a stop on a gravel drive way, Katie garbed her hoodie and Rover she stepped out the car. She took the keys from her mum and set off towards the house she unlocked the door and went to find her new room.

She picked a room in the basement that had been renovated into a few rooms "Katie come and get your stuff I'm not bringing it to you!"

"ugh, fine I'm coming Matt"

she left Rover and ran up to her things. After she unpacked she plugged in rover to charge the little robot and went to find the others. She found them in the kitchen they where talking about what to have for dinner. They decided to go into the town and find somewhere to eat, their new house was in the country side and it was a 10 minute walk into the town. Katie went and got changed to go out.

They walked into town and found a diner, they sat down at a table. After they looked at the menu a waitress came over "Hello my name's Alura, what can I get for y'all" they ordered their food, and were talking about the school that Katie was going to.
