Although Louis refused to speak to Harry the first day, he seemed better and more approachable than Harry had first thought he would be
He was always fully aware of everything, which meant he was harder for Harry to read. But Harry like a challenge, and he also like Louis confidence. Although he was sure that he wasn't as confident as he seemed. He knew he had flaws, as everyone did. But Harry thought that his confidence and cockiness could be some sort of barrior of protection
And also a key part of the case
Maybe the attack was out of defense. Or maybe the barrier was brought up becaue if the defense
It was obvious that Louis wanted to maintain his 'badboy' attitude. But why? Most criminals would beg to be free. But Louis makes it worse for himself
Harry frowned as he thought through the possibilities of why Louis could want to have people think he's worse that he is
It's almost as if he doesn't want pity. He want to be strong for himself
Maybe that's what he had been deprived of. Power? Strength? Maybe that's why the man was killed. Or maybe he killed the man to gain power
The thoughts ran through Harry's head quickly, and he groaned loudly, when he felt a headache coming on
A knock on his door pulled him from his twisted daydreaming
"It's open" He snapped
Niall frowned when he walked in, slowly walking towards Harry
"Is this a bad time?" He asked cautiously
"No not at all, I'm sorry I'm just stressed" Harry told him
"So it is a bad time?" Niall's frown deepened
"No, sit down" He gestured to the sit which was placed opposite him, also against his office desk
"What's wrong?" Niall asked
"The new case is stressful" Harry stated
"Tomlinson's?" Niall nodded
"Yeah, he's hard to read" Harry bit his bottom lip angrily
"Well.. I don't know what to suggest except keep trying"
"I know" Harry sighed
"Listen Harry, you're great at your job. You're really brilliant at it. I'm sure you can crack him in a few weeks" Niall assured him
"Thanks Niall, it means a lot" Harry smiled at him, thankful for him as a best friend
"It's okay man" Niall smiled back "Just keep doing what your doing. It works for everyone else"
"I will. Thanks"
"I'll stop by soon, I've got a few papers to do" He promised
"Okay, see you later" Harry waved him off
He walked out the door silently, shutting it right behind him
It left Harry alone in the empty room with nothing on his mind except the damn case which was meant to be challenging, not impossible
