"Harder! Push!"
"Keep your eye on him! Never lower your guard! Push!"
"Ugh!" I grunted as I lay pinned to the ground huffing and puffing.
Captain America held his hand out to help me up but I pushed up on my palms and stood up. Warm liquid dripped from my nose as I wiped it away.
"Run it again!" My dad shouted, and with a sympathetic look, Cap charged.Stood around us in a circle was Thor, Bucky, T'Chala, Romanoff, Sam, Wanda, and Clint. Hovering above was my dad and Rhodey, while Dr. Banner and Peter monitored my vitals yards away from the training field.
I dodged and hooked. I was exhausted. I'm nowhere near done with my training. There's no second chances in war. You either win or you lose. And I'm a Stark, we don't lose. I'm trained to win, at any cost, for the greater good.
"Come on kid!" Cap whispered to me desperately. "Give up!"
I wheezed with my hands up going in circles. "Not a chance." I took one last mighty swing and I collapsed back in the ground."Tony! Enough!" Dr. Banner yelled running towards the circle. Cap knelt down next to me as I continued wheezing. My hands began to shake and chills covered my body.
"You should've listened Tony! I told you stop two hours ago! Peter! Grab the IV bags!"I tried to push myself back up, but my arms shook to violently, but I hoisted myself up onto my knees.
"Can you stand?" Cap asked.
I nodded and slowly gained balance. Cap held out his hand again and I pushed it away. "I'm fine." I said hoarsely. "I don't need your help!" I lashed out from pure frustration and annoyance. My dads suit came undone as it transformed back into the tiny black bracket around his wrist. He walked toward me, and put a firm hand on my shoulder.
"Go home, Heidi."
"No!" I protested. "I'm fine I can keep going. I just, I just need a drink."
"I appreciate the drive, but no." He said sternly. "Your BPs sky high and your pulse is pushing 200. You're done for today." And he walked right past me.I stood there, with my chest heaving up and down defeated.
"Here." Peter said timidly handing me a shirt as Dr. Banner stuck the IV needle in my vein. I took the shirt aggressively. I know I was lashing out because of my own frustration, but I just couldn't help it.
"Let this sit for 15 minutes.." Dr. Banner instructed. "It stays in until the car gets here." I spat back, knowing damn well the ETA of the car was about three minutes. Those three minutes felt heavy and long. But eventually I saw the audi pull in front of the Avengers headquarters, and I snapped the needle out of my arm and threw my shirt over my head.
I walked across the training field and instead of going inside I went around the side. I just didn't want to face them any longer.
"Miss Stark." The driver said opening the door. I ducked and sat in the middle seat. The drive was silent and I bit on my nails with my foot tapping like the energizer bunny.
We soon pulled up to the gates and waited for them to fully open and proceed to the front entrance. The driver got out of his seat to open my side and I climbed out.
My legs felt weak and shaky as I headed inside. The house was big, but empty for the moment. My sibling were at school while I trained so when I came home I was alone.I climbed the staircase to my room which felt like forever, but eventually arrived in. I walked into my bathroom and huffed as I slammed the door shut. I turned on the shower and let the water run for a few minutes. I hung onto the edge of the counter and looked myself in the mirror.
You're weak.
I spit blood in the sink.
There's no room for mistakes. Weakness is a mistake.
I hit my hand on my head to stop the shit talking and rattled the bottle of prescription pills, without opening them.
I undressed and sat in the shower. In the back of my mind I knew that no amount of water and soap could scrub me clean.I turned the water off and wrapped a towel around me when there was a knock at my door.
"Hey, how was training?" My brother asked coming into my room, followed by my other brother.
"It was alright. No major progress." I said still pissed off.
I closed the bathroom door as I quickly got changed talking to them through the door.My brother Newt was a few months older than me, and my brother Hero was a year younger than me. Newt is my stepmom Peppers son from her first marriage, and I'm my dads first from his first marriage. Then Hero is Peppers second son. But wait, there's more. After the divorces and my dad and Pepper got married, they had the twins, Klaus and Kalel, who are ten, then they had my sister Eleanora, who's 4, then lastly they had the last set of twins 10 months ago, Theodore and Theodora. So even though they're not really my brothers and sisters by full blood, they're just as good as.
"Kicked my ass today I'll tell you that." I said stepping out of the bathroom.
"I'll say." Hero said looking me up and down. Despite the weird family dynamic, I'm extremely close with my siblings. For a while, we were the only company we had. Bearing the last name Stark, certain things come along with that. For example, me, Klaus, Kalel, and Nellie are intellectually gifted. So we never got the chance for regular schooling since we were so far ahead. While Newt and Hero enrolled in private school due to the attention."How was school." I asked robotically. They both shrugged their shoulders knowing the same shit happens every week. I sat on the futon next to Hero as he handled a stress ball.
"We're gonna invite some friends over tomorrow though." Newt said, "Since mom and dad will be gone."
"Why? It's not like they care." I said confused. "No I know it's just, easier." He said making a face of uncertainty.
"So you're going to leave me with the babysitting?" I asked laughing dryly.
"We're just gonna okay X-box, our friend Bellamy has the new 2k game." Hero said. I just nodded bitting on my nails. "That's fine."Time passed and soon Klaus and Kalel were home. They stopped by my door and said hi to us and joined us leaving their backpacks on top of Newt and Hero's.
We talked to them for some time and then Nellie came home and we all went downstairs. For some reason Nellie and I had a really special bond. She was a complete mini me. We looked alike we had the same interest and both excelled in the same things. She even acted like me in some weird instances. I always knew I had to get better, be better, for their sake. My siblings were my number one motivation, they always keep me going.
All I know is that I shouldn't be this tired at this age.
