I woke up with a slight headache and my body hurt. My eyes adjusted and my arms felt like 50 pounds. I sat at the edge of my bed and whinced at the pain, but I kept moving on. I showered quickly so I can say goodbye to everyone when they left.
It was almost 7 am when I headed downstairs. The house was extravagant and techy since Pepper and my dad designed it. Newt handed me a cup of coffee and ruffled my hair.
"Morning brat." He said laughing. I shoved him playfully, "Goodmoring loser."
"Mom and dad are gonna be gone for the weekend. They're already gone." Hero informed me as I drank my coffee.

I shrugged my shoulders and rolled my eyes. "Where to? Paris? Amsterdam?"
"D.C." He said as little footsteps echoed on the tile.
"Hi." Kalel said shyly as she came into the kitchen followed by Klaus who went straight to the pantry.
"Is Nellie up?" I asked and Kalel nodded as she took a seat next to Hero.
"You all packed for school?" Newt asked and she nodded again.

We had small talk as Nellie joined us and then they left for school. I had some work to do for my dad on the computer so I'll keep myself busy until they come home again.

Newts POV
I always felt bad leaving Heidi alone. I know she gets lonely very easily, and to into her head. I know her neediness is harmless and she's a big girl, but I'm the big brother, for everyone.
Hero and I dropped Nellie, Klaus, and Kalel off to their schools and headed to our campus. In the parking lot we saw our friends Josh, Bellamy, Stilies, and Harry.
"Hey man" I said as I greeted each of them.
We walked to the front entrance of the building mindlessly talking but it all fuzzed out to me.

I couldn't help but be nervous having them come over later. Not that I'm embarrassed by my sister, or any of my siblings, but for so long we're all we knew and were still that to Heidi.
I guess I don't want her to feel left out, while still having time for me. I haven't talked to Hero about any of my concerns, I don't wanna worry him and make him start to over think.
"Yeah our parents aren't home so you guys can stay late or stay the night." I heard Hero say.
"Yeah definitely." Bellamy said.

My palms were feeling clammy. Staying the night. Sometimes the nights are hard.

"Newt." Hero said snapping in my face.
"Yeah."
"You good?" I swallowed hard and tried to get the look of worry off my face.
"Fine." I said shrugging and chuckled dryly.

We parted ways for class and I spent the majority of my day consumed in anxiety. The different scenarios. How differently things could go, how bad they could possibly get. All I wanted was time to pass and I keep telling myself, 'by this time tomorrow I'll know. Tomorrow always comes.'

We were done with classes at 12:30 and I met Hero back in the parking lot.
"You feel okay?" He asked me as I took a cigarette from my bag.
"Yeah, I told you before I'm fine." I said back trying to lite.
"Alright." he said holding his hands up in defense. "Josh just texted me saying they're on their way out." I just nodded.

I leaned up against the car and waited to see the four of them come out while Hero hit his vape.
"You're not uh, you're not worried about like everyone else at home are you?" I finally blurted out. Hero looked at me with a cocked eyebrow and a sour look.
"What do you mean?" I just shook my head. My concerns made sense to me in my head but I couldn't put it into words.
"Like you don't think that they'll feel left out or abandoned you know?"
"You mean Heidi?" He asked and I inhaled sharply and blew smoke away. "Nah." he said shaking his head and crossing his arms over his chest.
"Why, you worried about that?" I saw the rest of the guys come out the front entrance. "Just forget about it." I said throwing my cigarette on the ground.

We all hopped into the car and I drove us back to our house. I tried really hard not to be nervous or overthink the whole car ride, but now that Hero knows what I've been stressing about, it made me more stressed, because it made me feel crazy.

"Just to let you guys know there is 6 more of us," I said as we were turning down the private street, "so peace and quiet doesn't really exist." I waited for their response. The initial shock of 8 kids, then the questions, then the judgement. But it never came.
"Yeah dude no worries." Stilies said. "My sister used to bother me all the time when I'd have friends over." Harry chimed in.
I pulled up the driveway and the shock I was anticipating about my siblings was received, it was just about the house.

"This place is huge." Josh said jumping out from the backseat.
"Yeah our dad likes his space." Hero said forcing out a laugh.
We walked up to the front door and my hands shook putting the keys in the door. I unlocked the door and pushed it open as the AC chilled me further.
It was cold in here, and quiet, where was everyone.
"Hello??!" Hero bellowed as it echoed across the marble.

A little head popped out from behind a corridor.
"This is one of my younger sisters, Kalel." I said and she looked less than interested as usual. "Hey there." Bellamy said and they all waved to her awkwardly.
"Where is everyone?" I asked as we all put our backpacks down by the front door.
"Klaus is in the kitchen, Nellies in the living room, twins are sleeping, and I think Heidi's in the office."
"She get you from school?" I asked. And she nodded and we followed her to the kitchen.

"You guys want anything to eat or drink?" Hero asked as we entered the kitchen.
"Hey buddy." I said ruffling Klaus' hair. "This is Bellamy, Josh, Stilies, and Harry." I said pointing down the line.
"Hey little man." Josh said and Klaus looked like he won the lottery.
"Hey!" he said enthusiastically. "You're Bellamy Blake! You're on the basketball team, I watch your games!"
"Oh yeah?" Bellamy asked smiling as Hero opened the fridge. "You play?"
"No." Klaus said. "My parents want me focused on school work, sports take up too much time." Oh God, this is awkward now.
"Well, we should shoot around sometime." I said. "We got the court, maybe tomorrow, after you finish your work."
He nodded his head like a bobble head with a dimply smile.

Next in line, little feet patted on the marble and little Nellie came into the kitchen.
"Hey there she is." I said. Her hair was a mess and her curls frizzy with a blanket in her tiny hand hanging on for dear life.
"You gonna say hi?" I asked picking her up and putting her on the counter.
"Hi." She said smally and turned her head away burying it into my chest.
"Why you being shy?" Hero said teasing her. And she just giggled.
"Smelly." said a voice from behind.
