It's an average day. 8:00 am. Way earlier than Tobio Kageyama would normally be awake if he had the choice. He's on his merry way to go for coffee with his manager to have a quick meeting about the usual - photographs, models, new cameras he might want to buy. The things he wouldn't think about if it wasn't for his manager, Kiyoko Shimizu. One of the only people in the world patient enough to deal with Kageyama's... Ways.

He slipped in his earbuds and tuned into his favourite radio station: 109.8 Sunset Sounds. He always loved the voices of the guys who hosted it - the daytime guys, at least. The nighttime ones were a little more boring in his opinion. He enjoyed listening to their petty bantering even if it was childish. If people were to hear that Kageyama enjoyed this sort of thing, they would think it to be out of character for him.

It probably was.

Then again, there weren't a lot of people close enough to Kageyama to judge his character. He could count the number of reliable friends he had on one hand.

First, there was Koushi Sugawara; his closest friend since childhood. They grew up as neighbours and remained as so for most of their school years. Sugawara has an uncanny ability for adapting to the ever-changing habits that make up Tobio Kageyama - and he always manages to make being friends with 'Kags' seem so easy, which it isn't.

After Sugawara came the one and only star manager; Kiyoko. If Kageyama was braver, maybe he'd be like the guys who fell for the beautiful girl immediately. That's a big if, though. Fortunately, Kageyama didn't have to worry about making a fool of himself around Kiyoko since it took him about three months to find the right headspace to talk to her in the first place. Furthermore, Kiyoko was happily engaged to her at-the-time-they-met-girlfriend, Hitoka Yachi. Lastly; there was a chance Kageyama... Swung a different way. At the end of the day, he was glad that Kiyoko was a patient and calm, not-exactly-social person. It helped him acclimate to her faster.

A newer friend of Kageyama's was a sports model; Wakatoshi Ushijima, also known as Ushiwaka to all of his (albeit numerous) fans. The celebrity model could do any outfit justice with his broad frame and natural looks but leaned toward modelling for sports - volleyball specifically. Thanks to Kiyoko, all it took was a few phone calls for Kageyama to end up being an assistant photographer on one of Ushiwaka's shoots years ago. Ever since that fateful, well-paying day, they'd been friends. Both were a little on the awkward, blunt side of socializing, but once they realized their mutual faults, a sense of familiarity blossomed - their friendship following close behind. A good thing, for the most part.

Last, but not least, was Kageyama's most recent friend - who he met, admittedly, a few years ago. Keiji Akaashi, a rare, unseen talent, personally requested Kageyama to run a shoot for him on a random day of a random September. Akaashi's style deviated from what was mainstream, instead focusing on badass streetwear, patterned grunge looks, abnormal hipster pieces, and above all else: intricacy. It'd been unanimously decided (on more than one occasion) that Akaashi was probably Kageyama's prettiest friend. Fortunately, said pretty friend was like Kiyoko; quiet, level-headed, Kageyama-approved. He was manageable and humble during day-to-day life.

These were the people he thought of as he listened to the friendly banter between the two radio hosts. They were clearly close, with an inside joke thrown around every minute or two. He didn't mind the jokes, though.

After all, the jokes caused that loud, obnoxious, enchanting laugh from the host he couldn't help but keep his attention on.

What was his name? Hinaru? Hinayuki? Hinasao? Hinari?

"No, Sho, I didn't say that!"

"But you definitely did, Nishi!"

"Damn it Hinata, stop exposing me!"
