The guards dragged us into Sister Jude's office, and she glanced up from her desk. I knew we were to be caned for trying to escape. Kit wouldn't shut up as we were led down the corridors. I knew we were going to be in more trouble than we already were if he continued with his complaining about how hard the guard pinched his ear or stuff like that.

"Oh, it's just you two. Well, I'm obviously not surprised," Sister Jude said, looking up from her desk. My hands collected sweat in them, and I looked up at her hesitantly. "Sit down."

The guards pushed us both into two chairs beside each other. I yanked my arm free from the grasp of one of the guards and sent him a glare.

"What makes you two really think you could escape from here?" Sister Jude questioned, and I tried to catch my breath.

"I--" I began.

"It's my fault, Sister," Kit lied, and my eyes widened as I looked over at him. "I was the one who encouraged her to escape with me. It's my entire fault. So, punish me, not her. Hope didn't do anything wrong." That was a lie, a big horrible and ugly lie.

"Very well, Mr. Walker. As your punishment... Solitary confinement and electric shock therapy this evening," she said, and Kit looked down submissively with a small nod of his head.

"What? Solitary confinement? But Sister Jude, you can't--" I begged, and she immediately silenced me.

"Enough! Do you want me to add forty lashes to his punishment too, huh?" She hollered and I shut up. She stood up from her desk and advanced toward me. She knelt down in front of me, took my chin harshly into her hands, and forced my eyes to meet hers.

"As for you, young one," She turned to me, "I am going to let you go this one time. But if ever find out that you and your little friends are planning to escape here, I will make sure you will never leave this pig-shit asylum ever. I am the head of this place! You will respect me no matter what or I'll make sure your life here is a living hell. Are we clear, Ms. Prescott?" She said harshly, spitting in my face.

I nodded and she pushed me backward into the chair. "Keith! Luke!" She called out to the guards. I shivered at the last name called. It was him, the one who tried to hurt me the other night. I shuddered.

"Luke, I'd like you to please escort Ms. Prescott back to her cell," she said, and Kit's eyes widened.

"No, sister-- I can do it--" He began, but she cut him off by the wave of her hand, letting out a sickening laugh at that.

"You really think I will let a murderer and an insane girl stroll around the corridors without any supervision? Ha," She said in a sarcastic tone and I swallowed the lump in my throat.

"But Sister Jude, you can't leave Luke alone with Hope." Kit said, which made sister Jude cock her eyebrow.

"And why not?"

"He assaulted her the other night! He was touching her! I saw it with my own eyes!"

She laughed at that once more, and my face paled. "Oh, Mr. Walker... I highly doubt that."

"No, it's true! I was there--"

"Enough of this false talk, Mr. Walker." She tilted her head up to look at Keith. "Take him out of here. Isolation," she told Keith, and he nodded.

"Time to go, Bloody Face," he said and pulled Kit up from his chair, dragging him out of the room as Kit's shouts echoed throughout the corridors.

"Now. Where were we?" Sister Jude looked at me and I gulped.

"I believe I was going to escort Hope back to her cell," Luke replied, and my muscles tensed when his cold fingers wrapped themselves around my arm. He lifted me up from the chair aggressively and I was taken out of the room.
