17.
I didn't want to believe what they told me a few weeks later.
"You're pregnant."
I was pregnant. I had gotten all the symptoms you would normally get, such as these weird stomach bugs. I also didn't get my period in a while, but was I even ready for this? I mean, I was only nineteen... Twenty in two days. Kit had something special planned for me. But what could possibly be so special about Briarcliff? It was sweet though that he thought of me. That night, Kit and I stayed up late as we used to and that was the night when he asked me to follow him, to be with him. And of course, you know what I said in return.
"Hope? You up?" Kit asked in a light whisper, and I slipped out of bed. I tiptoed over towards the small window of bars that separated out rooms from one another. And there he was. after Kit and I found out I was pregnant, we decided to come up with a few good names.
I had so many questions. Would our child be a girl or a boy? What genes will they inherit? They would definitely have brown eyes. I knew that considering that both Kit and I have them. Will they have the shape of my nose? Kit's dimples? Or will they look nothing like us?
"Yeah," I answered in reply and we gave each other a small peck on the lips.
"Have you come up with any names yet?" Kit asked and I gave him a smile. I spent the past few hours in bed, sitting and thinking in my cell as I tried to figure out some names I liked.
"Yes. For a girl, I like the names Rylee and Liberty, Libby for short. For a boy... Noah and Ethan. And what about you?"
"Rose and Colton."
"Those are perfect names. Let us choose two out of that list, one for each," I said. "Which ones do you like the best?"
"I like Liberty and Noah. You?"
"I was going to say the same thing. Great mind thinks alike." Kit laughed softly, and so did I.
"Okay, how about if it's a girl, we name her Liberty and we could use Rose for her middle name? And for a boy, Noah?"
"I love it, Hope." Kit closed his mouth over mine in another gentle kiss. I kissed him back, smiling in between the light and passionate kisses.
"There, it's settled." Liberty and Noah... Two very beautiful names for our soon-to-be child. Sure, we'd have to find a way to raise him or her, but not here. Not in this horrible place. I knew Lana's plan would work this time, so I chose Liberty because of that. We will escape this hell, we will have our freedom and liberty. I knew life wasn't that great for the both of us right now, but once we have a chance to escape Briarcliff, it'll be better. Things will be better.
So I smiled.
"Sleep tight, Hope. Get some sleep. I love you." Kit said as I made my way back to my bed. I slipped in and pulled the covers over me.
"Good night, Kit. I love you more."
"I love you most."
With that, I slowly drifted to sleep as I felt my eyelids grow heavy.

Kit and I were both called down to Sister Jude's office the next morning. We both were dragged out of bed and looked like zombies that had risen from the dead when we were brought in.
"Sit down, children," Sister Jude told us. We sat down on two empty chairs in front of her, Kit taking my hand in his.
"So. I see you're pregnant, Ms. Prescott," she said as if she hadn't known until now. "Congratulations."
