It’s been a week since Zayn had proposed, but I was still stuck in that blissful mood. I haven’t stopped smiling. Everything in life was a million times better. I could tell Zayn was happy too. He had only left my house to get some clothes. He even said he should just move in.

            “Are you serious?” I asked.

            “Why wouldn’t I be?”

I hesitated before I answered. “I mean isn’t the girl supposed to move in with the boy for a while and then they’re supposed to buy a house together.”

“My house has too many err… too many unpleasant memories…”

“Oh.” Was all I could say.

“Speaking of…. Her… Good news. She moved to Australia.”

“How’s that good news for me?”

“You won’t have to worry about running into her on the streets or seeing her at the park…”

I couldn’t help but laugh. “Zayn, I was never the immature one. I could deal with seeing her. It was her who you’d have to be worrying about.”

He cut me off with a kiss. “I know… I underestimate you, and I don’t know why.” His warm breath was lingering against my neck now. I slowly tried to back away.

“Zayn….” I mumbled and he did pull away.

“So can I move in?” The seriousness of his face turned into a smirk.

            “I think you already have.”

The next day the four boys showed up and so did Taylor and Morgan, to help move Zayn’s stuff across the street. I stayed at the house with Ryder to “supervise” where things went. But I knew Zayn only let me stay here so I didn’t have to be in the same house that god knows what happened in.

Ryder was full on walking now. I liked it better when I didn’t have to chase him through the house… He was also very curious. Every little thing distracted him and he had to touch it. “Ryder!!!” I screamed, chasing him into my bedroom. I was holding the door for Niall when he slipped off.

My once perfect child, was now as nosy as ever. When I found him, he was sitting on the floor, with the bottom drawer to my dresser open. In his hands was a picture of Chase and I a week before I found out I was going to have Ryder. He pointed to Chase and then looked up at me.

“That’s your daddy, Ryder.” He giggled and shook his tiny head.

“That’s daddy.” He said and pointed to the doorway. I spun around to face Zayn, holding a box of something… he looked like he was going to cry.

“Absolutely, little guy.” Zayn said picking him up and spinning him around. I wiped a tear from my eye before Zayn could see. I picked up the picture of the smiling couple and put it back in the drawer. No need to dwell on sad times, when life in the present was more then I could ever ask for.

The next day was Sunday, and it was the day of the One Direction party. I had to call Kristin, from Ryder’s daycare, to see if she could baby-sit. She agreed, saying she was more than thrilled to. I dropped Ryder off at her house early that morning, and came back to my house to find Zayn asleep on the couch. I didn’t want to wake him, but as I began walking to my-our- room, he spoke up.
