Bambi groaned as she made her way out of the bedroom

Bambi groaned as she made her way out of the bedroom. Her sock covered feet padded quietly towards the kitchen, her body desperate for water, Advil, and a good old greasy breakfast to cure her hangover. After stretching her arms and hearing that satisfying pop in her shoulders, Bambi moaned and felt sleep creeping up on her again, opting to throw her body onto the couch which had a pillow and blankets messily sprawled on top. She really didn't want to stand up and cook breakfast.

"Want some Advil?"

"Jesus!" Bambi yelped in surprised as she rolled off the couch, her long limbs getting entangled with the sheets. Groaning, she peeked from behind the couch only to stare up at stupid, gorgeous, blue eyes and a crooked smile. She freaking adored that crooked smile.

"I'm not Jesus, unfortunately." Chris said as he handed her the bottle of Advil. A glass of water was thrust in her direction and she gulped it down until the last drop.

After setting the glass and bottle of Advil on the coffee table, Bambi hauled herself up on the couch, blinking her eyes rapidly to rid the drowsiness. To her surprise, Chris had sat down right next to her. Unsure, she started. "So. . .where's Skeeter?"

"Went out a few hours ago. She said she needed to run some errands."

"Oh. And Dodger?"

"With my nieces and nephews."

"Oh. So, it's just the two of us?"

"Uh-huh."

"Great."

She buried her head under the pillow, tears springing in her eyes. What was she supposed to say? They hadn't talked for at least a month after that night in Australia when she was starting the Oceania leg of her tour and Chris was off to shoot a new mystery movie of some sort. The events came flooding back in her mind: in her dressing right before the show, her mother quietly slipping out to give the couple some privacy, and──of course──the yelling from both of them.

"I can't believe you!" Bambi screamed, irritated as she turned her back on him to face the cream-colored walls.

"What?!" Chris huffed, "I thought you wanted to see me so I came here!"

Turning around, Bambi walked up to him, her lower lip quivering. She looked at him dead in the eye and sneered. "What I wanted was to spend time with my fiancé because I miss him. I didn't expect you to have plans with Hemsworth and I'd become the second option."

"Bambi, you're not the second option! You never are, okay?"

"Just go."

"You're asking me to leave?" Leave the stadium or leave her? Chris hoped it was the first option.

"Yeah." Bambi nodded her head, "Leave me. It's fine. You have your plans. Go on."

Chris shook his head. "I can't talk to you when you're like this, Bambina."

Bambi felt the pillow being lifted off of her face. She shut her eyes tightly and heard him sigh.

"You wanna talk right now, honey?" He asked, a hand brushing through her unruly blonde hair.

She often wondered how she managed to land such a patient and gentle man. Even when Chris and Bambi had kept their relationship fairly private, the media still found a way to fabricate stories about her and all those past lovers she had or even Chris leaving her for one of his pretty co-stars. He always reassured her that it wasn't going to happen nor would he believe any of the bullshit the media reported from their 'inside source'.

Bambi sat up and buried her face in her hands, elbows perched on her knees. "I'm so sorry, Chris."

"Hey, hey." He soothed, pulling her into his chest and strong arms wrapping around her shoulders. "Let's talk about it, yeah?"

"I──I'm sorry for making you feel sad and hurting you." She whimpered, hot tears streaming down her cheeks. "I know my apology probably means nothing but it──it wasn't my intention to punish you with the silent treatment. I'm so sorry."

"It's not your fault, Bams."

"Are you sure about that?"

"It's not entirely your fault, Bams." Chris placed a soothing kiss on top of her head, "I'm sorry too. I should've tried to talk to you right after. I shouldn't have walked away. I'm sorry."

She took a shaky breath and ran her hand through her face. "It's all in my head. Stupid, stupid, stupid."

"It's not stupid."

"It is! You're so good to me, Chris. Maybe even too good to me. But I just──I just always seem to be looking over my shoulder for the end of us to come. Like it's going to sneak up on me and punch me in the gut. And I don't want that to happen ever. I don't want to lose you or what we have."

"You know what makes me sure we'll be just fine?" Chris asked her, his hands cupping her face. When he was met with a perched eyebrow, he smiled adoringly down at her. "I don't want to lose what we have either. Our kind of love. . .it's something else, Bambi. Even when you make me lose my mind, you're all I want."

Bambi opened her mouth to reply but was silenced with his mouth on hers. Placing a hand on his cheek, she moaned shakily as she tasted coffee and toast and breathed in his husky scent. His warm hands slid underneath the cotton pajama top she wore, squeezing her hips.

It only took a few more seconds until they were both laying on the couch with Chris hovering above her. He left a hot trail of kisses down her neck and stopped just by her collarbone to nibble on it which would surely leave a mark later on.

Bambi ran her hands through his brown hair and mumbled, "Hmmm. . .I missed you."

"I'll show you how much I missed you, honey."

The two of them had this effect with each other; the kind where they were both taken to paradise by a mere touch which was only heightened by months spent apart. With warm lips and satisfied sighs, Chris was a mere sinner──seeking for forgiveness──and her hips were the altar.
