When I awoke Cole was gone. I frantically searched the clearing, not finding any sign of Cole in the light of dawn. He was gone. Suddenly I realized Tyrek was also not in sight.

"Tyrek?!?" I exclaimed.

"I'm here. Sorry, I was getting water. Where's cole?" Tyrek asked.

"Good question" I huffed. "He was gone when I woke up."

"I wasn't really paying attention when I left," Tyrek explained. "Sorry"

"It's ok. I guess we'll just have to-" I suddenly grew quiet as a pack of canidaes walked into the clearing. "We could tame them. They will help us find Cole. I have some meat in my saddlebag. "

I watched as Tyrek flew to the quadcorns, keeping his eyes on the pack. A scrawny, dark-furred, smaller canidae watched Tyrek, his yellow-green eyes glistening with curiosity. He turned towards the task at hand, swiftly finding the pieces of meat in the saddlebag. He threw a piece to the dark canidae, before flying back to me, dropping the rest in my open hand.

"That one is tamed. He just needs a name" I said as I threw another piece of meat to a black canidae, its silver-blue eyes staring at the meat hungrily. The canidae's muscular shoulders slouched as it ate the meat.

"How about Bandit for the one I tamed," Tyrek suggested. "And maybe Ragnarok for the one you tamed?"

"Ok. What about this one?" I asked as I threw a piece of meat to a short, stout, blonde canidae. its blue eyes were kind and thankful, but cautious at the same time. The light Canidae ate cautiously, before warming up to me.

"There," I stated. "That's all three tamed. Let's name her Penny."

"Penny. I like it" Tyrek nodded. "Let's go find Cole now"

I nodded, before calling the canidaes. The dog-like creatures ran to me. I reached down to pet Penny as Tyrek went to find something of Coles. He returned with the grey t-shirt oak had been wearing the day before.

I lowered the shirt to the canidaes, letting them get hold of the scent. Suddenly Bandit bolted to the south, following the path out of the clearing. Penny and Ragnarok followed suit.
I hopped onto Cotton Candy, making sure to grab Galaxy's reins. I rode after the canidaes, there barking leading the way.

A few minutes later I saw Penny gently nudging a lump on the forest floor. There, sleeping under a tree, not even a mile away from camp, was Cole. I jumped on Cotton Candy, running over to Cole. I shook his arm, trying to make him wake up.
I watched as Cole sat up, his brown eyes clouded with confusion.

"Were-" He started, looking around. "Where am I? Where are we? Where's the campsite?"

"We're about a mile south of the campsite," I informed Cole.

"Wh-what?" Cole looked startled. "Why?"

"I'd like to ask you the same thing" I growled, my voice low. "Care to explain why you were gone when I woke up. And maybe, why we found you asleep here, under this tree?"

"I what?" Cole gasped. "I...I don't know...i must have wandered off while drunk last night."

"Cole!" I exclaimed, my voice rising. "You need to be more careful! I'm serious. You've been so reckless since you arrived here. I've had to save you what, like five times?" Cole stared at me, hurt shining in his eyes.

"I'm sorry Oak," the brown haired boy mumbled.

"Sorry doesn't cut it. I've had enough. I've had to save you more times than necessary. I'm going home. Good luck Cole." I was yelling now. I hopped onto Cotton Candy, before riding away. Tyrek flew up to me, Penny, Ragnorok, and Bandit trailing behind.

"Wait!!" I faintly heard. Cole hopped off the ground, before falling back. The alcohol must still be in his system I thought.

"Cole, be careful of the stump. And don't trust the flowers." I shouted as I continued to ride away. Tyrek and the canidaes followed behind me, leaving cole alone with Galaxy.

Cole's voice grew fainter. Soon he was out of my hearing range, and out of my life.
