Failed Attempt?

"What is the plan then?" I asked as I stared at Oak.

"Conall is gonna sneak us through the castle. Then once we escape from here, were are going to meet Jansey and Violet, the flowers that were with us earlier."

"Why are they helping us?" I enquired

"Oh. there actually Galaxy and Cotton Candy. " Oak smiled.

"WHAT!?!" HOW?" I shouted

"They can shapeshift remember." Oak laughed

"Right. I forgot about that" I smiled. Suddenly a thought occurred to me.

"Hey Oak?" I asked. "Why did you.."

"Why did I work for Josinik?" Oak smirked.

"Yeah. That" I nodded, slightly embarrassed.

"well .." Oak started. "When I was four, my father disappeared. That was 15 years ago. When I was 13, Josinik found me. He took me in. that's how I met Conall actually."

"So what happened?" I inquired.

"When I was 16 I started to do some really bad stuff for him. I couldn't handle it. So I left." Oak shrugged.

"I see." I murmured. "Oak?"

"Yes, cole?" Oak gazed at me.

"What happened with you and conall?" I looked at Oak. Oak's face dropped a little at my question.

"We used to be best friends..." Oak whispered. "We did everything together. When we weren't doing something for Josinik, we were hanging out with Rose or playing on the bridge. We would go for walks, or even try to find compass pixies."

"What happened then?" I asked quietly.

"I left" Oak replied. "And Conall, well he..."

"I stayed." a voice said from outside the cage. I turned around slowly as to not agitate my ribs anymore. There stood Conall, a medical kit in his hand.

"Here," the wolfman said as he handed over the kit. Conall looked at my father. "Make sure he's ready to go." My father nodded as Conall looked us over.

He smiled at us before nodding towards the door. "I've got to go. I'll is back soon. Make sure you're all ready to leave."

We all nodded as Conall walked out of the room. I watched as my father opened the kit, pulling out more bandages, disinfectant and more.

"I'm gonna change your bandages ok, Cole?" my dad informed me. I moved closer as I nodded. We continued to talk as my father worked on changing the bandages wrapped around my ribs. An hour went by before the door opened again.

"Conall" Oak asked cautiously.

"Do I look like Conall?" a female voice rang out. I turned suddenly, causing a sharp pain to bloom through my back.

"May-Sun?" I asked as I looked at the door.

"Wow" May-sun laughed. "The fool knows my name? Impressive." I glared at the flower as she walked towards our cell.

"Why are you even here?" I asked as my father lightly held his hand on my shoulder.

"I'm just checking on you, I can't let you escape after all" May-Sun smirked. "Hey, Cole?" the flower asked as she opened the door to the cell. "How do those ribs feel?"

"Why do you care?" I enquired as the flower walked into the cell.

"Oh, no reason" May-Sun chuckled. Suddenly the beautiful woman pulled back her foot before launching a powerful kick to my already sore ribs. I hissed in pain as Oak shot to his feet.
