The sea had some gentle waves flowing back and forth onto the beach, and seagulls squawked and flew up in the beautiful blue sky.
As everyone walked down some steps, Michelle took a sniff and beamed, "Just smell that ocean air!"
Ember came over to a rock and climbed on top of it. "It's gonna be smooth sailing from now on!" she declared as she held her staff up.
But then, a big rush of waves crashed upon her. Ember, who was now wet and covered with seaweed, coughed up the water as the sound of laughter could be heard. "Who's laughing?!" she inquired as she turned around.
Appearing behind Ember was another strange girl. She had light skin, blue hair, and matching blue eyes; she was wearing a green shirt under a brown cloak with turquoise stripes, a brown belt, a black skirt, and brown and black boots. In her hand was a long, blue staff with a blue crystal, and a crescent shaped object with blue leaves attached to it.
"Greetings!" the girl smiled, "I am Marina, the Charmer of Water!"
"I remember you, Merina," Ember yanked some seaweed off her. "You should be introducing yourself to them."
Marina looked at Michelle and Taj and giggled, "Oh, silly me! Well, children, I am Marina, the Charmer of Water!"
"My name's Michelle, and this is my best friend, Taj," Michelle said to Marina, before introducing her to Taj.
"Pleased to meet you," Taj smiled at Marina.
Marina turned to look out at the ocean and said, "I suppose you guys need a boat to get onto the water?"
"A boat would be great!" Michelle smiled.
"But HOW are we gonna find one?" Ember asked, "There's six of us now, so it would be impossible to use a rowboat!"
Marina thought for a moment, and then she saw her staff glowing, and got an idea. "I've got it!" she said before turning to her friends, "You guys find giant books and pieces of driftwood. I'll use my staff to create the shape of the perfect boat!"
"Then what do we do?" asked Breezy.
"You'll see," Marina replied with a wink.
Marina waved her staff around, and out of it came streams of water that stayed in the air. Marina used her watery magic to concoct the shape of a Viking-like ship with two big sails, and a figurehead of a mermaid at front.
In the meantime, Taj and Michelle worked together to haul giant books (about the size of a twin mattress). Ember, Breezy, and Midnight collected some driftwood and some old sail cloths they found from the result of an old shipwreck.
Michelle found 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Moby Dick, Treasure Island, Captains Courageous, Kidnapped, Robinson Crusoe, Master and Commander, The Swiss Family Robinson, and The Old Man and the Sea.
"I gotta be more careful with that squid book," Michelle said as she picked some up.
"I don't blame you!" Taj said as he picked up Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson.
It wasn't long before everything was ready, and the six friends put together a big ship made from books. After getting into the ship, Taj and Ember set the sails, and then Breezy used her wind powers to blow into them.
"I can't believe we're going on an adventure to sea!" Michelle gushed.
"Yeah!" grinned Taj, "Aside from soccer, I also really like riding boats with my uncle Fred!"
