pulse.

chase puts his arm around you and you lay your head on his shoulder. after awhile you decide to walk back. you see payton looking down at nick on the floor. he looks terrified.

C | WHAT THE FUCK?!

you run down and kneel down next to nick.

y/n | what did you do payton!!?

P | idk i just- i don't even remember- i just- he was- i got-

he falls to his knees. chase puts his hand on paytons back.

C | calm down. take a deep breath.

you start crying. you put your hand on his cheek. you check his pulse. it's slow. you start crying harder.

C | what happened payton?

P | we were arguing then he started telling me how terrible i treated y/n and i just snapped. i swung at his face and he fell to the ground. then i-

he falls into tears.

C | then you-

you scream.

C | what? what?

chase scurries over your you.

y/n | HE'S GONE! NO NICK PLEASE!! COME BACK!

chase panics and checks his pulse.

C | no pulse.

payton comes over.

C | do CPR or something i'll go get the defibrillator.

you start CPR. payton is pacing back and forth talking to himself. you close his nostril's and rip his chin up. you blow a breath into his mouth and watch his chest rise. payton looks down at you.

P | y/n!

y/n | NOT THE TIME PAYTON!

you give him 2 more breaths. you continue CPR until chase gets back.

C | clear!

he shocks him once. you check his pulse.

y/n | nothing.

payton keeps pacing. chase shocks him again. you check his pulse. still nothing. you try CPR again. you do about 7 rounds.

C | he's gone y/n.

y/n | NO! HE'S NOT!

you keep giving CPR frantically.

C | y/n stop.

y/n | no i can't let him go.

chase puts his hand on your shoulder. you don't stop. you give him another breath. chase pulls you back. you hug him. you turn around and look at nick. his chest rises. you gasp and kneel next to him.

y/n | nick!? nick! can you hear me?!

he groans.

N | what happened?

you hug him. he puts his arms around you still confused. chase helps him up. when nick sees payton he remembers.

P | i'm sorry.

N | i won't forget that.

P | nick-

N | no.

he gives you a hug. it's oddly tight.

N | you want to go on our walk tonight.

y/n | yeah.

chase walks nick back to their place and fixes his cuts. you walk back to your room in silence. you sit down at the end of the bed. you text nick.
