Ryan leads me to the dance floor first. My friends are all chatting at a corner while we dance. The decorations look really well------ we had taken a lot of help from the art club. A slow romantic song is playing currently, so I wind my arms around Ryan's neck and he holds my waist as we sway to the music.
"We did a good job, right?" I ask him.
"Yes sunshine, we did a good job."
After dancing for sometime, we join our friends. I introduce Ryan to some more of my friends which include Vanessa, Ashley, Matthew, Jared and Lucas. Ashley is in the cheerleading team along with Vanessa. She's a very sporty person----- she can never say no to anything related to physical exercise. That's why she's the most fit amongst all of us. We have been friends since 8th grade. Matthew and Jared are sophomores and I know them because we were in the music club together during middle school. Lucas is a good friend of mine. I've known him since 8th grade as well. He is a geek and he, together with Caleb, got selected into the soccer team. Both of them couldn't be happier because they are best buddies.
A few minutes later Alissa, Drake, Issac and Phoebe also join us.
After chatting for sometime, Alissa says,"Let's go dance a little, shall we?"
We all nod our heads and move to the dance floor. This time a fast party song is playing and I, Alissa, Vanessa and Ashley start dancing to the beat. Phoebe is not much of a dancer so stays in the sidelines, watching us with the boys who look at us in amazement. It's at times like these that I thank my mother for sending me to dance classes when I was young. I might not be as good as Alissa but I'm a pretty decent dancer.
Soon, the boys also join us. Among them, only Lucas and Matthew can dance. Ryan and Issac are doing some weird version of the Dinosaur Dance while Caleb and Jared look more like two stiff, dancing robots. I'm laughing at their antics when I feel a hand tapping my shoulder. I turn around to see Stella grinning at me.
"Heya, my girl," says Stella.
"Hey! Where have you been lately? I haven't seen you in like forever," I shout over the music.
"I've been busy lately," she says, shrugging her shoulders,"how're you enjoying your first Homecoming so far?"
"It's awesome! Where's my brother?"
Her face turns sour and she gestures behind her. I look in the direction she is pointing at and spot my brother dancing with five girls surrounding him. Andrew might be a complete dumbass and I'd rather die than admit it, but he really is on of the most handsome guys in our school. So, it's natural for him to receive a lot of attention from the females.
"What exactly is that dumbass doing?"
Stella sighs and says,"I was dancing with a few of my guy friends and that didn't sit well with your brother. Now, he's taking revenge."
I slap my forehead and say,"Should I go and teach him some manners? "
"No need, he might be stubborn but I'm even more stubborn. I'm gonna enjoy with you guys instead. By the way, you look stunning girl."
"You too, Stells."
Stella is wearing a red dress with a plunging neckline and beaded waistline. She has got brown hair cut into a bob, honey colored eyes and an extremely lithe figure. She even has a tattoo on her neck. She used to be the badgirl while my brother was the player. Who would've ever expected the badgirl and player to end up together?
Stella starts dancing with us and things become even more fun after that. That's when 'Work From Home' by Fifth Harmony starts playing and we all let out squeals. I, Alissa, Ashley, Stella and Vanessa have our own dance routine for the song and that involves a lot of sexy moves. The boys continue to gawk at us while we dance.
