The teacher, as though disgusted to even be in the same room with us, ran off in a flash the moment the hour made it's alarm. People disappeared and a few remained to chat and laugh about something.
I stood up from my desk and shoved a few loose strands from my face to my ear as I stacked my calendar and piece of important notes when I noticed my birthday was in just three days.
I was constantly being reminded of it.
"Is this Class 1-A?" An awfully familiar voice echoed the classroom and I instantly shot my regretful eyes towards the door only to spot Adrien.
His eyes racked the room and to say he looked completely different was an understatement.
His eyes seemed more focused, sort of angry, serious and nothing like the romance-deprived person as before.
His eyes landed on me in seconds and he smirked as he made his way towards me, the coldness on his face hardly left him.
"Wow. You look like a completely different person." I pointed out and he smirked even more as he fixed his red and black tie.
"Noticed the difference on my expression and natural aura, have you?" He asked as he stopped right in front of me, gazing down like he had captured his prey. "Oh yesterday I was merely playing the part your father wanted me to. Sounding like a love-deprived maniac who can't control himself. I do respect your father but you, Riley, proved me otherwise. You read through me before and failed towards the end. Don't get me wrong, Riley, I do find you quite attractive but I can trade you for oxygen anytime." He pointed out and I knew for sure he wasn't acting.
He was a complete different person from then and now.
At this point, he looked sophisticated and hardly playful.
"Why act like a weirdo?" I asked and he frowned a bit.
"Weirdo? So you're using the 'common' tongue. Hm." He sighed out and looked around us for a bit. "Just to test how well you can sieve a characteristic."
"Why are you here?"
"Your father requested I pick you up." He offered and I shook my head in denial.
"I have a ride. My boyfriend." I said as I began to pack my book only to suddenly have them snatched, and it wasn't Adrien but the two young looking bodyguards he walked with that were in casual.
"Do I look like I care if you have a boyfriend or not?" He asked as he grabbed my wrist. "Whether or not you don't like me won't change the fact that your father wants us together."
"What exactly did he give you?" I asked as he yanked me to walk.
"Nothing much." He grinned a bit as he faced me. "He convinced me enough that us being together would bring really high famous rates for the both of us. Imagine that. The first and second priced intelligent young brains matched up by cupid himself and make the perfect evolved couple. That's pretty tempting to hear." He smirked and I rolled my eyes as he dragged me into the corridor, getting a few curious eyes from the students still in the hall.
"Like I care." I growled under my breath, letting him drag me along. "Could you stop for a moment?"
"If I do, your boyfriend will come in any second. I'm not really one to fight right now." He said as he yanked a bit more when I tried to resist.
"Riley!" Sarah's voice echoed my ears and I glanced towards the end of the hallway only to spot her sprinting towards me with a nasty grin on her face. "Oh. Wow. Hi." She chuckled as she deliberately pretended not to have seen him. "Adrien Hawks, right?"
"Yes." Adrien nodded slowly, as if not fazed by it at all.
After all, he really did say he hated paparazzi and probably fans that get into your face.
"Um." Sarah cleared her throat. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Sarah Douglas. Riley's best friend."
"Oh." Adrien smirked a bit as he turned his eyes to me. "You have a best friend? Why am I surprised?"
"Because you're the one that doesn't have a living." I said and Sarah nearly laughed at that but suppressed it probably because it was Adrien.
"Be nice Riley." Sarah chuckled a bit. "Ash was looking for you though. He thought we could hang out together."
"Oh no. She's hanging out with me." Adrien pointed out as he forcedly wrapped his hand around my neck and brought me to his chest. "I have something I need to do today with her."
"Ash is her boyfriend." Sarah pouted her lips as she glared at him. "You need to respect that."
"And I'm her future husband. You should respect that." He rolled his eyes as I cringed my nose at him.
"No you're not."
"Riley." He glared down at me and I chuckled as I tried to untangle his arm.
"Excuse me, but I think I'll take her from here." Ash's voice came from behind, grabbing all our attention. "Adrien is it?"
"Who else?" Adrien asked with a bored tone in his voice what Ash completely ignored.
"Sure." Ash sighed then glanced down at me with a small smile tagging on his lips before glancing back at Adrien. "Could you let her go now?"
"Just know that she's mine." Adrien said as he let me go slowly. "So don't get too comfortable."
"She doesn't even like you." Ash said as he reached out and grabbed my wrist, pulling me to me and held onto me protectively.
"She doesn't need to." Adrien smirked at Ash whom I felt got tensed under his arm. "Her father wouldn't like you even if you spilt blood for her. So don't bother even thinking of a future together." With that, Adrien span on his heels and left with his goons trailing behind.
I frowned a bit at his last statement that had a high probability of being true. My father wouldn't care if I liked Adrien or not. What mattered to him was the popularity he would get and the high chance me and Adrien would have his 'perfect' offspring.
"Wow, what a jerk." Sarah chuckled as she glanced at me with an uncomfortable smile. "Are all famous people that way?"
"Hey, I'm not." I frowned and pouted my lips at her.
"Oh yes you were." She hissed and I recoiled. "You literally made me feel bad."
"It wasn't my fault. You were just... Weird." I frowned and sighed as I glanced up at Ash who had been staring at me since. "Did you think I was a jerk?"
"I wouldn't say that. You were just challenging and difficult for me." He said and I nodded slowly at his argument. I really was a jerk to Ash.
"I'm starving. Hadn't had much lunch and I might die." Peter suddenly spoke out and we were all surprised he was even there to begin with. "Can we go?"
"I'm starving too." I said as I unwrapped Ash's arm.
"But you had a serious lunch." Ash argued and I rolled my eyes at him as I began to walk.
"I need to fuel my brain. Plus, that's what boyfriends are for. To rob them of money." I smiled and glanced over my shoulder at Ash who smirked at me.
"Alright." He sighed out with a small chuckle. "If you say so."
