A sunny day overtakes the city of Vale, bullheads flying in the air and the streets littered with regular citizens and people traveling for the Vytal Festival. Walking through the streets.
An old man with a receding hairline hangs a sighs over his store, Dust Till Dawn, which reads "NEWLY REOPENED!". He begins climbing down the stepladder and is accidentally bumped into by a girl he looks ap at her as she states, "Oops, sorry about that." With a kind smile, she had brown skin and mint green hair, a straight fringe and bangs, as well as two long locks on both sides of the back. Her clothes that of a white top and olive crop-top, on the back of it keeping an emblem of a finely cut gem, she also sports white pants with brown chaps that end towards her calf's with an overlong belt wrapped around her waist twice, she keeps two blades sheathed at her backside, both green and appearing to have large hilts but are more akin to large pistols in size, "I'm not from around here." She helps the old man up and hands hm a piece of paper, "Um, would you mind giving me some directions to this place, please?"
The old man nods and gives her the directions she asks for, then walking off and giving a large wave as she passes a nearby alleyway with a boy housing partially slicked back but still unkept grey hair, leans on one of its walls. As she passes him he looks over to her, "I knew you were lost." The boy wore a slate grey and black two-tone partial-zip jacker that covers his upper body with metal arm guards and black pants.
The girl walks up to him and holds out a wallet to him, presumably the old mans, "Mercury... I will seriously pay you, to shut up."
He nods his head stating, "That's not your money."
She shakes the wallet in his face with a face of obviousness, "But it could be yours for just a few minutes of silence."
Mercury tilts his head to the side, "Hmmm... no deal." He then shakes his head at her.
She looks at him with an angry expression before taking out some Lien and throwing it to the ground while walking away, "Fine."
Mercury scoffs and begins walking with her, "Oh, whatever. You want me." They begin walking and looking through the streets, people either walking or engaging in conversation at restaurants. Mercury looks at her, "So how much farther?"
"A few blocks."
"Uhh, this place is so dull."
"Meh, I kinda like it. Tall buildings, diverse culture."
"And nice dopey people who are easy to pickpocket."
She stops and looks at him, her hands on her hips, "That's every city."
Mercury turns to her with a surrendering stance, sarcastically remarking, "Oh Emerald! Master thief! Please don't take my money! I barely have enough to get by..." He looks down and playfully smirks while Emerald looks at him irritated before continuing to walk off, Mercury looking at her disappointedly, "You're no fun today."
They begin walking up to a store and see a boy exit it, he wore a dark purple winter fur hood jacket obscuring the rest of his head, so they couldn't quite make out what he looked like other than the clothes he wore, the jacket done up to his clavicle, and his pants were a dark purple with thick yellow columns going down the side. He waves to the inside of the store saying something before leaving with one hand in his pocket and the other holding a newly purchased book.
Emerald and Mercury enter the store seeing it filled with books, but no one was at the counter. Emerald goes up to it and rings the bell while Mercury checks the books, a man humming being heard until the boll goes off and he yells out, "Be right there!" a man then walks out backwards carrying several books in his arms stating, "Welcome to Tukson's book trade! home to every book under the sun." He places the books down and gets a look at the two, "How may –uh." Emerald looks at him smiling while Mercury continues to peruse the books, "How may I help you?"
