AS A SMALL girl Maeve would get in quite some trouble with her snarky and irreverent attitude.
She was a quarrelsome child as the neighborhood would call the youngest Bennett at the age of ten. School was no use either, she barely had any friends and was always forced to hang out with her sister's.
Around the neighborhood, she could hear every single comment that sprung her way. She tried her best to ignore it but the urge to flick off middle-age women was aggressively close.
"Word around the street is that the parents passed away and now they're stuck with their grandmother, poor Sheila."
"That's probably why she acts like that all the time."
"I couldn't imagine having a child like that."
Along with her carefree attitude she also had a couldn't give a fudge what people said mindset—not being aloud to use violent words growing up— but it helped her throughout high school most of the time.
It wasn't only the old mom's on the block gossiping about Maeve but the school too.
Middle school was hard for the small girl, it's was the year of finding out new things about yourself and exploring new activities.
Maeve began to hang out with Jeremy more in middle school—even though they've known each other since childhood—at the end of the school year she became a social butterfly.
Jeremy was best friend, not that Elena and Caroline weren't fun to be around, but she felt like she was being held back.
Maeve wanted to explore the world and was hyperactive. That was a time when she finally understood things and wasn't angry all the time anymore.
She understood that her father had work and important business meetings. She understood he had a busy schedule and was on his way to become to mayor of mystic falls—his dream.
Somehow with every ounce of free time he would be by their side. Football games with Cedar, Maeve's recital, even to help with Bonnie's school projects sometimes.
That was once every blue moon.
Rudy didn't trust his mother in law to watch over the three. Not with her recent past of magic that ran through the Bennett bloodline, but who else would he turn to.
They had no where else to go, and he couldn't take them with him, that would be selfish. He couldn't trust the Bennett witch but he had no other choice.
