Jay's checking over my essay fully when I say something completely unexpected. "Has Maggie said anything about us?" Jamie looks up at me as if I just killed her dog.

"Like what?" she says hesitation in her voice like she's scared to talk about this with me, I can't blame her, I'm scared for this conversation too.

"Like about our relationship. It hasn't been the best lately but I think you already know that. I just don't know what to do and you're Maggie's best friend so I just wanted to know if she had said anything about it,it was stupid just forget it." I say giving up, there was no point in having this conversation with Jamie.

"Hey don't do that. Before I was her friend I was yours. Gray, Maggie hasn't said anything to me but it's obvious something's wrong. Whenever you two are together at school you're inseparable but in the car and when we all hangout it's like you don't even know each other." She says concern in her voice.

" I just don't know what to do. All we do is argue but Maggie doesn't want anyone to know so when we go to school all we do is hang on each other, obviously that's not working because you realized," I explain.

" I noticed because I know you, Gray you don't look happy. I know when you're happy I can tell and you're not right now. I don't know how to help you but I don't want you or Maggie to keep hurting each other."Jamie says.

" I know,it's getting really bad. The last thing I want to do is hurt Maggie." I truly mean that. I do not want to hurt Maggie anymore then I already have.

"Maybe you and Maggie just aren't meant to be together, I mean you were happy when we were younger but now you two aren't so maybe it just wasn't meant to be." Jay says at a near whisper.

"Jay..." I say knowing what she's talking about.

"No it's fine Grayson I get it," She says even though I know she's upset and it's entirely my fault. Before I can respond there's loud knocks on the door... Brett.

"Hey man you're not making out with my little sis are you?" He says joking but it just makes the situation worse.

"Nah man she wouldn't let me even if I tried." I say bringing up something we used to joke about when we were all little. It was always supposed to be me and Jay, me and Maggie were never supposed to happen. I messed it all up. I want to fix it but I know she doesn't feel the same way she did when we were 14 so maybe there's no way for me to fix it but if there is I might just try it.
