The summer air, it's stifling. Yet it's also inviting. Well, to a normal person it would be. I much prefer autumn over any other season. It reminds me of happiness, or what I think is happiness? God, would you listen to me? I sound like some emo kid trying to get his parents approval. Maybe in a way I still am? Still that same sad, pathetic, scared little child.

Two emerald green orbs peered out in to the heat, sweat trickling down his brow. "What a day to mow the lawn" he muttered to no one in particular. While Looking down at his own stomach he pinched some of his access weight in-between his thumb and index finger. "Guess at least I could burn off some of this lard before the school season starts.  Maybe even land myself a girl!" He yelled, again to no one in particular.

Looking back and forth nervously, to make sure no one heard his embarrassing statement, he chuckled to himself. "Yeah, right." Grasping the pull string on the mower he yanked it hard. There was a sputter, then nothing. He did it again, and again. Still there was nothing. "Oh for fucks sake" he stated in annoyance. As he went go pull once more he heard a scream that made him jump. Then, he realised who it was that screamed. "Mom... mom is everything alright?!" He exclaimed.

Getting no response he took off in a sprint in to the house. Unprepared for what he was about go see.

"Why... WHY WOULD YOU?!" His mother yelled, her cheeks covered in tears.

"Mom... mom wh..." The words caught in his throat. The smell of copper filled his nostrils. The sight of his father, and his sister, both covered in crimson made him retch.

"YOU BASTARD! YOU... YOU!" The broken mother fell to her knees. She slowly reached out towards her husband, to her daughter. Both were statue still. Not making a sound, no breathing.

"Dead... They're dead. Dead, dead, dead." The world spun, his mind went blank. Running, he was running. Running away, running scared. Pathetic, scared, sad, tortured child.
