The evening went on without much of a hitch at the Murakami household. Kagome had just finished with her bath and was looking into the mirror.

"Weak and pathetic."

That's how her non-mom of a mother use to refer to Kagome as. The abuse she suffered because of that woman was nothing short of hideous.

"Well look at me now, hag."

Kagome glanced down at her midriff, spying the multiple scars littered around her hips. Where she use to slice into her flesh to feel some sense of control. She still felt the urge from time to time, even now.

"No, not anymore. Never again."

She shuddered for a second thinking back to when she lived with that horrible thing that called itself her mother. She was in a much better place now with her dad.

Kagome shook her head back and forth, her wet hair throwing droplets of water all over the bathroom. After a deep breath to clear her mind she dried herself off and threw on some sleepwear.

Striding from the bathroom to her room she leapt into the bed and splayed out, enjoying the light breeze her fan provided.

Her mind filed through the days events, the new boy she's apparently fixated on. His features and mannerisms, his pretty eyes, strong physique.

She shook her head again.

"Blegh!"

Kagome set up quickly, too quickly. She got a bit dizzy, then suddenly remembered Jace's wrist, when she had ahold of them she felt multiple aberrations on the skin.

"They were scars... Cuts, just like my own."

She flopped onto her side, some hair sliding over her eyes. Reaching down her fingers curled around the comforter as she pulled it up over her shoulders. She yawned, closing her eyes.

"Tomorrow, tomorrow I'll figure out how to keep him. I did find him after all."

A smile crawled across her face at the thought of getting to find out more about the boy.

"I wonder what he's up too now?"
