David didn't like being alone, not being able to do much, stuck with his own thoughts for company. Instead of trying to make his way to his room, David decided to simply stare off into space and daydream on the couch where he was left by the others.

That is until he heard a knock at his door. Who could that possibly be? Evan and Jon have a key, he thought.

The knock sounded again, the person outside clearly not going away anytime soon. David slowly got up and gently made his way to the door, using the knocking for help.

"Hello? Who is it?" David called once he got to the door, hand resting on the knob.

"David?" Called a familiar voice. Almost, too familiar. "David! It's Tyler! I ended up catching the late ride."

David's breath caught in his throat. Tyler? He was finally going to meet Tyler.

He quickly unlocked the door but slowly opened it, walking backwards with the opening frame.

"Hey look at you," he heard Tyler say quietly. David heard Tyler walk in and he closed the door. Butterflies swarmed David's stomach and his heart started pounding in his chest.

"Hey come sit down with me, we can talk til others get back."

"Yeah," David whispered. "I missed you, ya know. I felt all lonely without you for these couple of months or however long you were gone."

"I missed you too, so much," Tyler near whispered back. "I saw Evan text everyone about visiting and I couldn't pass up. I wanted to see you so badly."

David's heart felt like it was going to burst out of his chest. Tyler practically flew across the entire country just to see him.

Tyler went to reach for David's hand that was resting gently on his leg. A small smile placed it's itself on Tyler's lips. He looks so nervous. But before Tyler could touch David's hand the front door swung open and laughs sounded,
startling both men on the couch.

"Hey, David! We're back and I promise no one is drunk-" they heard Evan say but suddenly stop when he locks eyes with Tyler, who retracted his hand. "Hey Tyler, I didn't think you were going to make it." The rest of the guys crowded behind Evan, smiling and waving.

After everyone said their hellos to Tyler, everyone agreed they were going to bed.

"Oh and Tyler," Evan started with a sly smile just before he disappeared down the hallway. "You'll have to room with David." With a wink and mischievous smile, he quickly disappeared around the corner.

Tyler felt his face and chest heat up at Evan's words. He looked back over at David who's face was covered in, what Tyler thought was, the most adorable blush.

"Hey," Tyler started quietly. "You should get some rest, I'm pretty tired as well. Let's head to bed."

"Yeah," David said. Tyler stood up first to make sure David would follow.

As Tyler was going to help him up, David shot out of his seat and tripped on his feet. Before he could fall to the floor, Tyler caught him.

"Woah there, I got y-" Tyler was interrupted by his own astonishment. Was that... colour? Am I really seeing colour?!

"Tyler? Are you okay? Can we sit down?" David asked. Tyler quickly set David back onto the couch, making sure he still held onto his hand. Tyler felt like he couldn't contain his happiness. Here in front of him, was his soulmate, his best friend he met online through friends, the cute and bubbly person he grew to have a crush on, and seeing him in colour was even better.

David felt confused by the silence and Tyler's grip on his hand, but he felt warm, happy. He closed his eyes for a second, enjoying the warmth in his chest and the soft hand holding his.

When he opened his eyes, however, to a different sight than when he closed them. There in front of him, he could see Tyler. He could see all the colours on his face from his ocean blue eyes to his light pink cheeks. He could see.
David couldn't help the tears that escaped from his eyes. He couldn't help the small smile that started to form on his lips. He couldn't the fact that his body was starting to tremble.

"David?" Tyler's voice cracked a bit. "Are you okay?"

David started to cry more.

"David?"

"You're so beautiful," David whispered.

"Wait what? How can you..."

"Is this what it's like to see?"

Tyler's facial expression quickly matched David's in surprise and wonder.

"You can see?" Tyler whispered. David nodded slowly. Tyler's surprised face turned into one of pure happiness has pulled David into a tight hug.

David didn't resist, in fact, he was happy for the contact. He quickly buried his face into the crook of Tyler's neck, smiling with happy tears.

After a few minutes of happy chuckles and tears, both of them holding each other tightly. Tyler slowly pulled away from the embrace to look at David. Man, David never got tired of looking into Tyler's eyes.

Tyler let go of David's hands and cupped his face. David noticed Tyler's eyes were no longer focused on his, but on something a little lower.

"David?" Tyler whispered. "Can I kiss you?"

David was at a loss for words, his heart pounded in his harder than before. He nodded hopefully.

At that Tyler brought their lips together softly. Fireworks exploded in their chests at the gentle touch. They parted after just seconds, but to them, it felt like an eternity.

"Let's go to bed, yeah?" Tyler broke the comfortable silence, looking lovingly into David's eyes.

"You can stay with me."

"Yeah, then in the morning you get to surprise everyone," Tyler smiled as David
giggled.

They made their way back to David's room, David, of course, stopping to look at the house he's lived in for years for the first time along the way, and once in the room, they cuddled up together on the bed, almost instantly falling asleep.

David couldn't wait to surprise Evan and Jon in the morning, but most of all he couldn't wait to wake up beside his amazing and beautiful soulmate.
