(A/N I have no excuse this time, I just forgot... sorry... but! I promise to work harder in the future and hopefully post on time for once. I'm just really bad at this, I'm like, insanely bad. I did have a weird dream last night though... ok.)
"Woah!" I scream as a water balloon almost hits me.
I'm cover in mud from falling so much and I hate it, but I am surprisingly enjoying the game. Especially with Brandon playing and Rebecca sulking in the corner.
I grab another water balloon and look around for Brandon. I can't seem to find him though. But all of a sudden I feel a pair of large arms gripping tightly around my waist. I get startled at first, but then I hear the familiar voice say
"Ok guys! Now!"
Before I realize what's happening, everyone turns towards me with water balloons in their hands ready to fire. I struggle and laugh as I try to get away, but those strong arms keep me locked in place. The next thing I know, dozens and dozens of water filled balloons come raining down on me. I get completely soaked, but not just with water, some of the balloons have paint in them, others have glitter, and some have colorful powder of some sort. I close my eyes and mouth as me and Brandon (but mainly me) get bombarded with... stuff. When it ends, everyone starts laughing, but I get an idea. I say
"WHO WANTS A HUG!? FREE HUGS EVERYONE!" And I start chasing all the people who threw those balloons at me as we all laugh.
It eventually gets dark, and everyone goes inside their tents. There's a lake nearby, so I walk over to the dock and stare of into the distance.
"Whattcha doin?" I hear Brandon ask as he walks up next to me
"Lookin. You?"
"Lookin." We stand in a comfortable silence for awhile until he asks
"What're you lookin at?"
"The sky, the lake, the trees, just stuff. What're you lookin at?"
"A very colorful and sparkly boy." I playfully shove him as he laughs
"I like this side of you." Brandon says
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, I like the energetic, fun, outgoing Triston that you gave us all a glimpse of today. I enjoyed it." I blush
"What about the quiet, boring, introverted Triston that I normally am? You want him to just fuck-off?" I joke
"No, I like him too... but I like it when you step out of your comfort zone a bit... say, why are you normally so introverted? Is there a reason?" I don't reply immediately
"Well..." I tell him about my horrible adopted parents and sister, about my mom, about Jake, and about me being gay, but he probably already knew that. I just stand there for a while afterwards, thinking, 'why did I tell him that? Why did I just open up to him like it was nothing? What's different about him?' I get pulled out of my thoughts when Brandon says
"Wow. I'm so sorry. I had no idea."
"How would you? This isn't something you can just immediately know about a person by looking at them."
"I guess you're right... wait, so this is why you change your clothes at the beginning and end of school everyday?"
"Yup."
"Oh. Wow." Awkward silence
"Is this the real life?" Brandon starts singing
"What?"
