Heart's Home

Sleepy one, it is time to awake

And take a long walk beside deep lake

Hear black crows cawing up in tall trees

Flowers are buzzing with honeybees

A bullfrog croaks beside shoreline's edge

And scares a deer, who leaps over hedge

A carp rolls over with a loud splash

Minnows dart by with a sliver flash

Dragonflies swoop among tall green reeds

A largemouth bass swims among green weeds

Family of ducks swim by with soft quacks

Look in brown mud and see raccoon tracks

I enjoyed our long walk by deep lake

Time to go home. Oh look! There's a snake!

When you miss me, stop and read this poem

Walking together in our heart's home.
