It was during Ben's football practice that Aphrodite decided to do some homework. Yet she had found herself staring at Ben. He was captain of the football team and she could see why.
'Shouldn't you be learning or something?' Ben shouted at her from the field. He had seen her stare at him and couldn't help himself but make a comment about it. What he couldn't see was Aphrodite's face getting all red. She quickly turned her attention to her textbook. She heard footsteps coming up on the bleachers. She looked up and her eyes met Ben's. He was all sweaty and tried to hug her. He had grabbed her in a tight hug. She didn't want to admit it, but she liked his warm hugs. Even though he was sweaty and therefore sticky, she wouldn't want to miss this moment. At moments like these, she knew Ben cared for her. She knew he would never want to intentionally hurt her.
'I love you.' She mumbled against his chest. He looked down at her face and planted a kiss on her forehead.
'I love you too.' He whispered back. He pulled away from their hug and joined his team again. He was lucky to have someone like her in his life. And he knew this damn well. For the remainder of practice, he had seen her actually study for once. She always wanted to work ahead on her homework. She was a good student and he knew why. He was already offered a fully paid scholarship because he was the star athlete of their school while she needed to have a perfect GPA and he respected that.
It was almost six pm and she knew that the coach would let them go so she started packing her bag. She was right because not even five minutes had passed and the coach announced that practice was over.
'Aph, wait up for me. I'll be ready in five!' She heard Ben scream before he disappeared in the locker room. She walked down the bleachers and as promised she waited for him.
Promises matter. They matter now more than ever.
'You ready?' she snapped out of her thoughts and stood up while throwing her backpack over her shoulder and intertwining her fingers with Ben's.
'Yeah, let's go.' Ben had taken a quick shower and his hair was still wet. She let her hand glide through it. She loved his hair. It was soft.
He had picked her up this morning partly because her car had broken down a few days ago and partly because he liked the feeling of her being dependent and him having to take care of her. When they reached the car he had opened the car door for her. It was the little things that made their relationship special. He took her bag pack and put it in the trunk. She had connected her phone to the car's stereo and had put on some music to which they would often sing along with.
'McDonald's?' He asked while focussing on the road. Aphrodite looked up from her phone and mumbled an agreeing response. They pulled up at the McDonald's parking lot and Aphrodite went in after him arguing with her over who would go inside. He wanted to be a gentleman. Not even ten minutes later she walked out again. She had a bag in one hand and in the other their drinks. She had difficulty getting back into the car so Ben got out of the car to help her out. He had opened the door and had taken over their food. Once they settled they began to eat. It was their usual order: two BigMac menus with two cokes. They ate in complete silence, other than her music playing softly in the background, enjoying their food and presence.

Ben had dropped her off after their dinner date. She still had a lot of homework to do and Ben was just a big distraction. A big and handsome distraction. She already had been doing her homework for at least two hours, when she got a call from Ben. Both of them agreed to watch some movie on Netflix at her place. He was going to be here in give or take ten minutes and she wanted to tidy up her room a bit. It was a giant mess.
She heard her mom call for her from the kitchen 'Ben's here.' She ran downstairs where she quickly greeted Ben with a peck on his lips.
'We're going to watch a movie in my room.' She told her in a way of asking for permission.
'Don't stay up too late.'
Before they went to her room, Aphrodite had quickly grabbed something to drink and eat. Ben had already gone to her room with the pizza he bought before coming over. He was already laying under her blankets. He was scrolling through Netflix hoping to find a good movie.
'Are we really going to watch a movie?' She asked. Ben looked at her puzzled.
'What else should we do?' Aphrodite could see the grin that started forming on his face, killing the mood instantly. She walked over to him and gave him a playful punch against his arm.
'Nothing' She said while grabbing a slice of pizza. 'Although we could play Mini Golf.'
'Netflix it is.'
'Why couldn't it be Mini Golf?'
