Katsumi woke to shouting, and doors being opened and slammed shut. She rubbed her eyes, and let out a small yawn as she confusedly took in her surroundings. A small yelp escaped her surprised lips as sharp stinging pain throbbed through her forearm, blinking tiredly she examined her arm- startled to find a long deep gash, surrounded by sticky, wet blood. Memories of last night came flooding back, she had fallen asleep outside after finding Tohru tending to a sick Yuki, who then denied wanting to see Katsumi. She rubbed her head, letting out a tiresome sigh as she gazed out at the view before her. The door leading to the balcony opened, exposing Katsumi's excellent hiding spot. Yuki rounded the corner, and let out a sigh of relief.
"Thank goodness, there you are! What on earth are you doing out here? Did you fall asleep on the balcony?" He asked, coming to kneel before her. She turned her head opposite of him, and got to her feet.
"What does it matter to you," she sneered before stalking inside to have a warm shower. Though the summer days were warm, the nights still grew cold. Katsumi held up her arm as she inspected the bloody wound, she wandered down the hall absentmindedly plucking out shattered pieces of glass that had remained in her arm over night.
"Katsumi! We've been looking all over for you, where have you been?" Haru called, as he spotted her in the hall.
"Oh my gosh, what happened to your arm?" Tohru added, rushing over to her. Haru followed suit, grabbing onto her wrist to inspect it further.
"Yikes, Hari's going to need to take a look at that." The ox informed her, sending her a playful smile. Katsumi scowled, snatching her arm away from her cousin. Her glare bounced between the two, before she push passed them and continued her way down the hall.
Katsumi rinsed her arm under the warm water of her shower, before sinking down to the ground. She rested her head on her knees, letting her dark thoughts absorb her mind. A soft knock on the bathroom door startled her, rather than answering she let silence fill the room.
"Katsumi, I heard you hurt your arm. Are you okay?" It was Yuki who had knocked on the door, Katsumi remained silent hoping that he would leave her alone. "Okay, well... We're all heading down to the beach. Meet us there, okay?" Yuki lingered for a couple moments, before letting out a sad sigh and retreating from the door. Letting out a sigh of relief, she hugged her knees tighter and let silent sobs wrack her body. She couldn't understand why Yuki had gotten her hopes up, why would he pretend to care about her- especially when it was so obvious that he cared so deeply for Tohru. Katsumi could understand why Yuki would choose Tohru over her, but she couldn't figure out why Yuki had lied about his feelings for her. She rinsed out her hair, then shut off the water.
