Shuichi sits at Kokichi's bedside. Him waking up had gotten them an extra week that was going to be up soon.

A small groan, then "Shumai?"

Kokichi was awake, struggling to sit up. The other boy starts to help him up.

As soon as the purple haired boy is upright, the detective pulls him into a hug. He starts to sob quietly, holding onto him tightly. The leader rubs the other's back in comfort.

"I'm sorry, I just..." The blue haired boy lets out a small laughing sob. "I was scared for you. I didn't actually think you were going to wake up."

"Well, I did. Now where's my Panta?" He demands, giving a weak smile. The other boy smiles, rubbing the leader's hand.

"Coming right up, your majesty." He goes to stand, but the other boy clings onto his jacket.

"Please, stay..." He asks shyly. Shuichi smiles, climbing onto the bed next to Kokichi. The leader falls asleep first, head on the detective's shoulder. The other boy falls asleep soon after that, resting his head on the other boy's head.

They both wake up late in the afternoon. Shuichi is ready to see everyone else, bringing Kokichi with him, but the leader had other plans.

"Come on! Everyone's been so worried." The detective begs to a puff of purple hair poking out from a pile of blankets.

"I don't care. Plus, I highly doubt they cared that much anyways." The purple hair disappears under the blankets.

"What's really wrong? I don't think this is over going to socialize." Shuichi says, already tired of arguing.

"Fine. You wanna know what it's really about?" The boy's head pokes out of the pile of blankets. He starts to try to stagger to his feet, but instead ends up leaning against Shuichi's chest, panting.

"That happens every time I try to walk. They already think I'm weak. What's gonna happen when they realize I can't even walk?" He clutches Shuichi's shirt. The boy rubs his back, letting him sob.

"I can't help but wonder... What would have happened if you'd said the words that saved me sooner?" A deep rooted anger fires up from Shuichi at the boy's words.

"It's not my fault, okay?! I never asked for you to love me! I never asked to be in this position! Maybe it would be better if you'd never loved me! In fact, I WISH YOU NEVER LOVED ME! You should have died with the sickness!" He yells. Kokichi's eyes widen, and tears fill his eyes, but the detective doesn't care. He throws the boy back onto the bed.

"Shu... Shumai-" He begins, but the other boy cuts him off.

"Don't 'Shumai' me! Just leave me alone! You're so needy!" Shuichi's words cause the purple haired boy full on crying, actual tears. But the other boy is already so deep into the pit, he's not willing to admit he was wrong.

He storms out of the room, leaving the boy who gave so much to their love alone, crying.
