It was a glorious morning. The sun was up and the birds and butterflies were flying around merrily. However, it wasn't such a fantabulous day for the gang. It was the day that they were leaving their little holiday cabin. They had grown fond of it and didn't want to go, but they had to. They had a lot of work back in the city.
"Wow. I can't believe we're leaving this place.", said Zoe sighing as she stuffed everyone's luggage in the van.
"Yeah, our two-month vacay, has sadly come to an end.", said Evelyn.
"Come on, guys, get in the van. We don't want to be late.", said Vance. Everyone got into the van except Tyler. He was still looking at the cabin. "What's wrong Tyler?", asked Riana. "I don't know... this is the place where I got bonded to the love of my life forever, and it seems sad to leave.", said Tyler, smirking at Riana. "Hey, just because we're leaving the place where you got bonded to the love of your life forever, doesn't mean you'll lose the love of your life.", she said, hugging him from the back. "Hey, maybe we can come here for our honeymoon!"
"Come on!", complained Zach. "Please don't start this now." They chuckled. This is going to be one painful ride...
It was already noon and they had just entered the city borders. Zoe was going to drive to Tyler's parent's house as his and Riana's family were going to be there for them to tell their parents they were engaged. Tyler convinced Riana's parents to meet at their house for something important by telling them the rest of the gang's parents would also be there. This, of course, of not true. They reached Tyler's parent's place, Zoe dropped the couple in front of the house and parked a few blocks away to give them some privacy.
"Hey mom and dad", said Riana and Tyler to their parents who raised their eyebrow.
"Where are the others' parents? And what is so important that you need to tell us that we need to be face to face?", asked Riana's dad, Arthur. He had forgotten about Tyler asking for his blessings.
"Yeah, about that.....".started Riana. "We didn't really need them to come..."
"What do you mean?", asked Tyler's mom, Mrs Cruz. Then Riana showed them the ring on her finger and both the moms screeched in joy.
"Yes! Finally! My daughter is getting married!", Riana's mom, Mrs Lawrence, or Patricia as she preferred, and pulled them for a hug. "You never told me how you were going to propose, Tyler!", she told Tyler, who was getting squashed in her tight embrace.
"Come on, Pat!", Mrs Cruz told Mrs. Lawrence. "We have a wedding to plan!" and the two mothers went on talking about food and dance which should be kept at the event while Tyler and Riana saw them walk away in silence. Finally, Mr Edward spoke.
"Good job on getting the girl Tyler! I knew you could do it.", he said slapping a blushing Tyler on the back.
"Just remember to keep her happy boy.", said Mr Lawrence, smiling.
"I'll put all my heart and soul into doing that sir.", Tyler replied and received a nudge from Riana, who was looking pink.
"Oh, did I make you blush, baby boo?", teased Tyler. (yep, I got that from HTTYD. Lol)
"Hey, one more word and you're dead meat.", she replied, still red.
Zoe honked the van horn and gestured them to get inside. With goodbyes and congrats from the two fathers, they got inside the van. "So?", asked Evelyn and Ayelen. "So, what?", replied Riana. "Did they say yes or no? Were they happy?", asked Vanessa. Tyler was about to answer but Zoe did it for him. "Of course, they said yes, you dumbhead. Why do you think Tyler even proposed then, without asking Riana's parents if they were okay with it?" she asked, receiving an "Oh, yeah", from Vanessa and a "You idiot" from Zach. She reached Tyler's and Riana's apartment and helped them get their luggage up. When they were done and ready to leave, they were left with that awkward silence.
"So...", said Vance.
"So...", repeated Ayelen.
"I guess this is... bye?", said Evelyn, looking uncertain.
"No, no. This isn't bye. We'll see each other soon right?", asked Zoe.
"Of course.", said Riana and they all group hugged. While Zoe drove off from their apartment, Ayelen cried out, "Hey, don't forget to send us the invite to your wedding!", earning eyes rolling from the two.

Well, that was awkward wasn't it? I feel all dads say that at some point. Lol.
