It had been a few months since their holiday, and they were missing it terribly. Tyler's and Riana's engagement was old news by now, but to their parents, it was not. They spent these months planning the wedding along with Tyler and Riana. They were almost finished. The food was decided, the decorations were chosen, the bride's dress was chosen by Riana and her mom, without Tyler's knowledge and Tyler's tuxedo was also chosen and bought. The only thing remaining was the invitations. The guest list was already done, but the invites were yet to be sent. They were going to send an E-invite to everybody. Well, everybody except the gang.
Zoe was peacefully sitting on her couch, with Auro snuggling close, writing her speech. She was the maid of honour while Zach was best man. The wedding was two weeks later, but she liked to do everything in advance. So, there she was, deciding what she was going to say at her two best friends' wedding. With many minutes of deep pondering, she concluded writing a humorous speech. She wrote for almost an hour, with many changes of thoughts and was in the concluding statement when the doorbell rang. She wasn't expecting any guests but went to answer the door. She saw a young man, wearing a Dunzo uniform standing on the porch. "Uhh.... Package for Ms Zoe Wilson?", he said, handing Zoe something that looked like a thick piece of card wrapped in newspaper. "Yes, I am Zoe. What do I owe you for the delivery?", she asked, taking the package from him. "No, ma'am, from what my manager told me, the sender already paid for it.", he answered and walked off. Zoe didn't know what was going on, and since curiosity got the best of her, she ripped open the newspaper immediately; she had always waited for at least an hour before opening any mail.
She opened it to see a gold invitation, with a rubber rose to seal it. It said 'To our best friend, Zoe Wilson, By Tyler Cruz and Riana Lawrence"
Zoe was in confusion. Wasn't this supposed to come in her inbox? She decided to call Riana to check if there was any mistake. She dialled her number and waited. After a moment or two, Riana picked up with her usual "Hey Time-freak! What's up?".
"Hey Riana, what's that you sent by post? That invitation was by mistake right!", Zoe asked.
"I knew you would react this way,", she mumbled. "No, idiot, it's not a mistake. It's the real deal. We wanted to send you and the gang a special invitation. You guys are the reason we are here after all!", she replied. Zoe chuckled.
"Aww, that's so sweet! Thanks. You know,—", but she was cut off by a loud yell in the background.
"Babe! BABE! Come downstairs! You mom is here!", bellowed Tyler on top of his voice to Riana.
"Hehe, got to go Zoe. Talk to you later. Open the invitation, there's something special inside!", Riana said right before she hung up. Zoe pulled a quizzical look and gently opened the rose to reveal a red velvet background with a gold border with silver text imprinted on it saying:
Hey Zoe. You must have been confused when you got this, but don't worry, it's not a scam. I and Tyler just wanted to give you and the rest of the gang a special invitation. You are our best friends ever and you all are the reason we are here to celebrate this awesome event. As maid of honour, you must have your speech already ready right? You're such a time-freak. Anyway, here is the address of the wedding hall:
SunMeadow Avenue,
134th street,
Round the banyan tree and down 134th street
Hope to see you there!
Your amazing friends,
Riana and Tyler
P.s from Tyler: Thanks for the help with the planning. Your hotel and room number will be told to you when we meet you. Come to my parents' place, I'll text you the location and you can head to the hotel after that.
Zoe smiled at the invitation. She couldn't help but think "I have the best friends in the world." She finished her speech and went to her closet to find something simple, but elegant to wear for the wedding. She could only find things that she wore too many times, things she hadn't worn but didn't match the theme of the wedding which was a garden theme or way too simple pairs of clothes. She sighed. "What do I do? Hey, lemme go to the mall, they might have something." So, she put on some jeans and drove to the mall.
Once there, she looked around the non-designer brands for something, but couldn't find anything her size; she was quite tall. When she walked into one of the designer brands, Crystal, she found many things that she liked. Many things that were out of the theme. She then grew impatient and asked the help desk for assistance. "Hello. I am looking for a garden dress, but I am unable to find a suitable one for me. Can you please help me?" The lady at the desk nodded and asked, "Sure ma'am. Where are you planning to wear it?"
"At a wedding. I am the maid of honour, so I would like something simple.", Zoe replied.
"Of course. What about this piece?", she asked, showing Zoe a pink two-piece dress with many frills.
"No, this is not going to work. Too poppy for me.", she said as the lady nodded.
"This is sure to please you. One of our only pieces. We have sold the others.", she said, showing a long, ankle-length, English green dress with dull pink flowers and green leaves covering it (Pic Above). She loved it.
"Yes, this is exactly what I had in mind. How much?"
"Umm... this is $45, ma'am.", Zoe's jaw dropped. That cost a bomb. "Wow. That's a lot.", she began to think. "Well, I guess for my best friends' wedding, I could probably give it a thought."
"Okay, I will take it", she said at last. She purchased the dress and went home. Once home, she neatly kept the dress in her closet, sandwiched between two leather jackets that were her father's so that it would not move. She later picked out the jewellery to go with it. At last, she a complete outfit ready for the big event.

Heloooo! The above picture is actually mine and I thought it would make a great garden dress, don't you think? The next part is really sweet and makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, so stay tuned for that! (I'll probably publish that tomorrow)
