As the bus pulled up to the curb, Kaitlyn peered out the window and saw Ryan and his gang leaning against a wall looking brutal as ever. "Ohhhhh," she said to herself with a nauseous face as she thought she was going to vomit just from the sight of them. As the doors opened and the kids started to depart, Kaitlyn quickly ducked in between them and stayed in the center as they passed by the boys, making sure they didn't see her.

As she was walking towards her first class she tried so hard to stay as far away from Nick as possible, another mean toadie in Ryan's gang. She had at 3 classes with at least one of her bullies.

The day had gone suprisingly smooth and easy without any confrontation with Ryan. "Maybe they decided to stop bullying me," Kaitlyn said to herself, feeling a bit relived. With that thought in her head she was able to rest easy in her last class for the day. When the bell wrang she shuffled out of the building after everyone else had left because she was always the last one to leave.

As Kaitlyn was heading down a path between two large school buildings she heard footsteps behind her. She decided to ignore them and keep moving. She then heard the slightest whisper which seemed to startle her. She turned around quick, but to her surprise there was no one there. Confused, she then turn back to continue walking.

*SMACK

She had bumped into Ryan's big chest and stumbled back. His whole gang was circled around her. "Please... just leave me alone," Kaitlyn said with a shaky voice. "Aww, now where's the fun in that," Ryan mocked. Kaitlyn could hear the rest of the gang snickering as they got closer and closer. Ryan's arms grabbed her in a chokehold and Kaitlyn quickly realized that she couldn't breath. "Good God he's trying to kill me," she panicked. She knew she had to act fast, so without any hesitation she bit down on Ryan's hand hard enough for him to bleed. He released his grip and pushed her away roughly. Now was her chance to escape. Not looking behind once, she ran into the forest behind the school, zig zagging her way through, trying to lose Ryan and his gang who she could hear running after her with angry yells and screams. She could still taste the blood in her mouth. At that moment she felt like an escaped convict running from the police.

"YOUR GONNA GET IT NOW YA PUNK!" "NO WHERE TO HIDE!" They screamed as they gained up on her. Running for her life, she started to pant heavily as she was running out of breath. they finally caught up to her on the edge of a dirt hill. 3 of the boys restrained her and Ryan took out his pocket knife. "You think you can do this to me and get away with it, I don't think so," Ryan said with a vain popping out of his forehead. He started teasing by making little cuts on her neck as she screamed out in pain. Her head was tilted back and there was only one thing she could do.  She kicked Ryan in the stomach causing her to break free from their grip and stumble back. Kaitlyn fell over the railing, rolling down the dirt hill and into some bushes. Not wanting to go down there, Ryan and his gang yelled from the top of the hill, "THIS ISN'T OVER YOU LITTLE S***!

That night, Kaitlyn tried to get home as quick as she could because it was already dark outside. She walked with a limp because she sprained her ankle when she fell down the hill. As she came up to the front door she opened it ever so softly, trying not to let Diane and George notice she was home late, but it had turned out that they were already in bed. The couple had both had such a long and hard day at work that they didn't even notice Kaitlyn wasn't home yet and just went straight to bed without even checking on her. Kaitlyn crept to her bedroom and threw her backpack on the bed. She staired at the dark ground feeling numb from the fall and nauseous from the beating. Kaitlyn collapsed on the ground where she felt nothing.

She opened her eyes where she looked up to the night sky. She then sat up straight and got down on her knees. "I can't take it anymore. Please God... help me," she prayed as the tears started flowing. "I want to be able to go to school without constant fear racing through my head. I want to go to school not having to worry if I'm going to survive by the end of the day."

"Please God."

With those final words, Kaitlyn rolled onto the carpet and fell into a deep sleep.
