Chapter 10: Attempted Recovery

(Timeskip 3 hours)3rd Person P.o.V:

Weiss woke up with a jolt, gasping as she placed a hand on her heart. After taking a few moment to steel herself, she angrily sighed. "curse you, nightmares..." she whispered. A few medical staff ran in to check on her, as her vitals were higher than normal. "y-yes, yes, i'm fine...where's Y/n?" She asked, getting straight to the point. "u-uhm...." was the only response she got "...Where. Is. My. Y/n?? She asked angrily. "y-you're kind of...on him." The staff replied. She looked confused for a moment before looking behind her, seeing she was resting against him. He had bandages all over his body, as did she.

"So....your Y/n, huh?" Yang asked, leaning on the doorway trying not to laugh. "W-what the--Yang?" Weiss quickly turned to the door, seeing Ruby poke her head in as well. "Yo." Yang replies, bursting into laughter. Weiss sighed deeply. "you will tell NOONE of this!" She growled, fuming into laughter. "No worries, she won't!" Ruby said walking in "...I hope." she meekly whispered. "Seriously though, what was that all about?"

"I mean, he technically belongs to me. You really think Y/n will listen to Ironwood's orders without my saying so? At this point it'd make more sense to sign a contract giving him to me." Weiss countered. Y/n huffed a little, still asleep. "Hah! Even in his sleep he agrees with me! I win!: Weiss said in victory, before  flinching and doubling over, holding her injured stomach with a quiet "oh dear" Ruby rushed over and helped her keep steady.

"Weiss, as Team Leader I order you to take it easy! You're still recovering and I know you aren't used to this by you have to not do school work or... any kind of work!" Ruby demanded, crossing her arms. Weiss sighed before looking at Ruby's posture. ".....what do you know, you do pick things up from me." she said to herself. "huh?" Ruby asked, uncrossing her arms. "Nothing....but I supposed you're right.....this will be painful." Weiss groaned. "You are still really injured." Yang commented. "No, I mean not being able to get anything done!" Weiss retorted.

"Yeah yeah. cool it, Ice Queen." Yang said, not really paying attention. Everyone heard a low growling and looked to see a barely awake Y/n staring at Yang like "don't call her that." Weiss quickly hugged the Land Drake around the neck, to which he returned by curling around her some more. "I swear, those two are still severely injured, they should not be-" A nurse started, before another nurse shut her down with a quick "Shut it, Jill!"...and a slap on the head.

Ruby sighed. "Hey, uhm, Yang." She called, looking over to her. Yang looked over. "Could you go check on Blake? She's still on edge." Ruby asked. "So....uhm, what happened?" Ruby asked, as no one noticed the muffled "Blake, wait up!" from Yang, far down the halls. ".....Me and Y/n were shopping when he began to feel considerable distress, using gestures to beg me to get us home. So I did so, only for someone to follow us. We turned around, and saw that Red haired guy following us. He had to be with the White Fang, I think I saw bull horns on him too. He threatened us, and as a response, Y/n attacked him. But...I wasn't expecting for the both of us to be overpowered easily...it's like he was TOYING with us!....I'll admit, I was scared. As Y/n was finally getting the upper hand on the situation. With a snap of the guys fingers, he had a team of snipers raining hell on him..." She explained sadly.

"Adam Taurus." Blake said, walking in with a sigh as she sat down. Y/n looked to her, tapping a closer seat with his tail. "No no, I'm good..." Blake replied. "...You have the current leader of the White Fang out for your heads..." Blake explained. Suddenly a sign fell onto the ground. Everyone looked over to it, and saw it read "He's not the only one.." A random nurse that looked entirely new to the school walked in, and in a broken window of bright energy, went from black hair and green eyes, to white/brown eyes, pink/white/brown hair, and a different outfit.

Y/n immediately made the connection, got up, and despite his injuries, charges at Neo. The girl deftly dodged to the side, her umbrella extending a blade as she lunged at Y/n..only for the lights to loudly shut off, leaving the room in darkness as a struggle audibly stated, with blades clashing before a loud smack was heard, and Neo was hit out of a window, bathing the room in moonlight. A red cloak flickered with the wind, as the armored reaper stood up, "Now is not your time, Land Drake." He said, before holding a gem up and suddenly grabbing his scythe, phasing thorough the floor and walls as the sound of a fight ensued.....which ended rather quickly. "Tch. Coward." The reaper said, before disappearing again. All that remained as evidence of a fight was some damaged walls.

The lights went back on as the scythe wielder reappeared inside. "U-uhm...thanks, mister..?" Ruby started, wanting to know his name. "Specter. Donavan Specter." He replied. "You." He aimed a clawed hand at Y/n. "You've been gaining quite the attention. I'd suggest being careful from now on, for this favor of protecting your sorry ass is a one time thing. I'd intended to leave permanently, but I stuck around because I knew you'd get into trouble with people you'd underestimate." He scolded angrily. Y/n just nods. He didn't know whether to be thankful or fucking pissed off at how this guy was degrading him. "Tch..whatever. Farewell, Land Drake. "Just know that I at least called a friend." He said, disappearing for the final time.

"He has friends?" Yang asked.
