This section will tell you about the oldest Earth-F characters and events from the distant past to roughly 1000 AD

TIMELINE:

Over 6000 years ago - The barrier between the REALM BEYOND (Later known as THE FOURTH DIMENSION) and Earth-F is sundered for the first time. Fleeing the destruction of their kingdom by demons, three human looking refugees make it through. A courtier, a twelve year old peasant boy and his grandfather. On Earth they find themselves faster, stronger and more durable than the mortals they meet.

The boy, Utnapishtim already had an ability to create fire with his hands - this ability was so trifling in his home dimension that he wasn't even considered worthy of admission to the Mage brotherhood. On Earth, however he finds himself revered and uses his abilities to forge a reputation as a mighty sorcerer.

All magic on Earth descends from Utnapishtim and the Courtier. The former stays in Mesopotamia and lives thousands of years (later guiding the hero Gilgamesh who was secretly descended from him) while the courtier brings dark magic into being. Every single powered hero of the last few centuries descend from either these two men or other creatures and humans that later crossed over. Alternately the former courtier learned to disperse magical energies among his acolytes and their descendants who mixed with the descendants of the 'cross-overs' also had high mystic potential.

The Courtier and Utnapishtim live thousands of years, though Utnapishtim's grandfather died only eighty years after arriving on Earth.

3,500 BC to 2800 BC - At some point in this era, the Courtier, now calling himself The Dark Lord, enacts a rite to draw mystic energies from his home dimension. This crack allows denizens of the Fourth Dimension to come through, including the time traveling sky city of Zoom. Utnapishtim gathers heroes of the age and drives back the interlopers, though a few dozen of good will remain as refugees. These newcomers find inspiration in the myths of Earth and retire to pocket dimensions where they develop their own societies that sometimes interact with Earth, such as Olympus, Asgard, Heliopolis and more.

2800 - 2500 BC - The Gilgamesh saga takes place in Sumeria. Utnapishtim is growing old and starts to prepare a new generation of guardians to watch the weak spots in reality. A temple is built among the highest peaks of the mountains of Tibet where the tear is greatest, and a brotherhood formed. While this spot is defended well, small incursions keep occurring over time.

2407 BC - The Olympian, Neptune journeys to Earth and founds an undersea city, named for the legends of Atlantis. The new Atlantis is populated by humans that Neptune transforms into water breathers. Over millennia, sub species and offshoots develop.

2106 BC - Utnapishtim breathes his last and appoints a Council of Lamas, and transfers his original ability to manipulate fire to the High Lama. Over the next 1500 years a city grows around the temple and the Lamas become known as the Brotherhood of The Flame. Eventually the city is called The City of Flames

1290's to 1240's BC - Hercules, son of the Olympian Zeus embarks on an adventurous life. On several occasions he encounters and fights beasts and creatures from the Realm Beyond. Hercules notes the peculiar fact that the bodies of any interloper from the other dimension fade back there when slain - he further finds out that any who remain on Earth for more than a month will remain there if killed.

1170 - 1160 BC - The great hero, Samson comes to the attention of the Flame Lamas, who trace his ancestry to a son of Gilgamesh. Before they can recruit him, he dies at the age of forty. An acolyte is assigned to keep track of Samson's bloodline, with that acolyte passing the task down from father to son.
