HISTORY
The strange alien known as Lu Nar crash landed on earth in the summer of 1941 - his ship was wrecked beyond repair, so he had no choice to adapt to life on his new planet.
Thanks to his outlandish outfit, super strength and a few misunderstandings, he was mistaken for a science villain and wanted by the authorities. But after a short while his good intentions were divined and he was taken in by the heroes that made up the first iteration of The Mystery Men.
With his fellow science heroes as his only point of reference, Lu Nar stuck pretty close to them, and when the government organized a massive expansion of the Mystery Men as the Mystery Men of America (March 10th 1942 to March 10th 1946), Lu Nar (sometimes known as Lunar) moved into quarters in the top two floors of the Manhattan Biltmore Hotel that served as the headquarters of the team.
In this way he got to know virtually every hero operating in America, but was particularly close to Wonderman. He also struck up a friendship with other heroes out of their time and place, such as Kalkor, the ancient Egyptian warrior priest, and Cyrano De Bergerac aka The Rapier. But his closest friendship was with Don Quixote, who some said was equally weird.
Lu Nar continued to operate into the 1950's and by this time had established a solo career for himself, but in 1959 he was glad to team up with old friends and co found the third (silver age) and most famous iteration of the Mystery Men of America.
Aging very slowly, he remained with the team on and off through the next thirty years and at one point encountered members of his own race.
Not seen since sometime in the 1990's, it is widely believed he left with others of his kind and returned to his home planet.
