"Hey, it's Shawn." He says at the other end of the phone. Your eyes pop open when you hear his voice, your sight is blurry at first and it takes a few seconds for you to see properly. "You sound tired. Oh god, you went to bed."

"No, it's fine." You hurry to interrupt but your voice sounds sore and you're certain Shawn can tell you are rather drowsy.

"Really?" He laughs and you feel a heat reach the surface of your stomach. "I'm pretty sure I just woke you up."

"Well, maybe a little bit." You say as a small chuckle slips from your mouth.

You turn to your side while holding the phone to your ear, you don't want to fully admit it, but you feel tiny butterflies peak in your stomach from hearing his voice.

"I'll be quick then." Shawn tells you and you hear him take a breath through the phone. "I just wanted to ask if you're down for lunch tomorrow?" You heart skips a beat when you hear the question and you chew into your bottom lip to avoid making a strange sound of excitement.

"S-sure-" You stutter, your tongue stumbling over your unsteady words. "I mean, that'd be cool."

"Great, I figured maybe some company would be nice." Shawn says and you hear a small laughter. "I was new here once too and I would have liked to have someone to make me feel less alone the first couple of days."

"That's very thoughtful, Shawn." Is all you manage to say.

You really are surprise with how down to earth and genuine he seems. Not that you had a bad impression of him in the first place, but he's continuingly surprising you in such a positive way.

You figure he has good people around him who keeps him grounded, people who reminds him of who he is and where he's from and what really matters in the world.

"It's a deal, then." He says and you're sure he sounds cheerful. "I'll come get you tomorrow."

"Sounds like a plan."

There is a small silence between you, you don't want to hang up the phone and you're wondering if Shawn feels the same. You listen as he takes a breath and you feel chills down your spine when you hear him exhale softly.

"Well, I'll let get back to bed. You must be tired."

"Exhausted." You tell him. "See you tomorrow, Shawn."

"See you." He says and then, he hangs up the phone.

You place it back on the bedside table as you roll over and hide your face into the pillow. Your body is lingering and your cheeks are burning, even your palms are somewhat sweaty. You hardly get to process what just happened before you slip into a heave sleep.

A knock on the door wakes you and for a short moment, you forget where you are. Your eyes flicker confused around the dim room, your vision still blurry and still half asleep.

"Breakfast is ready." Tom says through the door while you rub your sore eyes.

"I'll be out in a minute." You crack your head sideways, feeling a tense knot around your shoulders while you crawl out of bed.

Your eyes darts to your window and you cannot help but get stunned by the view from your room. It's sunnier today and it doesn't look like it's going to rain.

You drag your feet across the floor and tiptoe to reach one of the hoodies Shawn placed on the top shelf in your closet yesterday.

It might be all in your head, but you can almost sense the cologne he was hearing when you pull the soft fabric over your head. It's strange to you.
