Chapter Twenty-Four

Gumball's POV

I woke to an empty bed. I shrugged and said "Marshall?" No answer. 'Must be downstairs eating." I looked, but he wasn't there. Come to think of it. I haven't seen anyone all day! Not even Pepper. Something isn't right.

I looked around the castle, but all I was alone. I ran to my lab, and luckily found Science. "Thank glob Science! No one else.... is here." She shook her head, but I ignored it. We went into the kitchen and grabbed a little bit of food, then headed back to my bedroom.

When we got there, the bed was made and a envelope was in the middle of it. The window was wide open, so I couldn't go over there. It wasn't like this a ten minutes ago. I put her down to go get the envelope. She did and we moved to a much darker room.

I lit a lantern and opened it up. It was letter saying "Meet me at the place we fell in love." "Marshall!" I yelled. I grabbed my day attire and put Science on the bed. "be good now. Don't do anything to the lab." She nodded and I floated off to the meadow.

'It's beautiful.' I thought as I made it there. There was a gazebo set up right in the middle of it, and Marshall was standing right in the entrance. He was wearing a maroon dress shirt and black skinny jeans. He had a single rose in his hands.bhe smiled when he saw me.

I was covering my mouth with my hands. Tears were falling down my face. I ran into his arms. The was setting, and Marshall took off my hat and gloves very gently and grabbed my hand. They intertwined and he lifted my hand and kissed it. "Marshall... how?" "Pepper and a few others helped me. They were resting today if you were looking for them."

"Is... Is all of this for..." "Yes." "You remembered?" "Of course, I will never forget." The sun went down and now we're finally free to move. Marshall sat me down in the seats, and sat next to me. He pulled out a small picnic basket and set it beside him. he pulled two small bowls filled with cherries, strawberries, and other berries and fruits that are red. We ate, having lite conversations until we were full. we put the bowls inside our cups and put the basket back into its place.

He grabbed my hand and we walked to a hill and lied down on a blanket and watch the stars. "Bubba?" I turned to him. "Yea?" He let go of me and we both stood up. he gave me a peck on the forehead and got down on one knee.
